This is a guest post by Markus Allen. Markus has been a good friend to me over the last year or so. He is one of my top affiliates and had the best conversion rate for 100 Subscribers Per Day with over 25% of his traffic turning into sales. Below he’d like to share a little tip, and a fantastic service, that will help you get more email subscribers.
Almost three years ago, James posted this tip at the Warrior Forum:

He revealed how he used a free bonus gift giveaway to get more subscribers (and boost his double-optin rate at the same time).
It’s a problem that almost every internet marketer I know struggles with… getting new subscribers to confirm their free subscription request.
And James was no exception.
Most of our new subscribers fail to confirm their opt-in request because of:
Dead ends
Our visitors have little patience these days.
They’re usually looking for solutions to their pressing problems.
So after subscribing to our offers, they’re met with a “dead end” - a “thanks for subscribing” message with no clear message on what the next action is to take.
As a result, they grow quickly frustrated and flee our website.
Confusion
Most thank you pages are flat out confusing.
Sure, we internet marketers are accustom to confirming our optin requests – we do it all of the time…
… But everyone else remains unfamiliar with the email-subscription process. They might fill out just a few optins per year. And unless we literally lead them by the hand and tell them EXACTLY how to confirm their subscription, they probably won’t finish off the confirmation.
Glitches
Even if you do all of the right things, forces beyond our control could make it next to impossible to get the optin confirmation.
Of course an email typo is impossible to confirm.
Also, some email service providers strangely delay sending each subscriber’s confirmation email…
… For example, the popular AWeber autoresponder service holds off emailing confirmations at least 30 seconds after a signup.
This strange delay hurts double-optin rates because our new subscribers fail to see the email confirmation and move onto something else…
… Of course when they decide to check email (later in the day for example), they forget about the signup and might think the confirmation is some kind of sneaky spam.
Is it REALLY worth investing the effort into
double confirmation?
Now with all of the hassles involved in getting double optin confirmation, you might be asking yourself, “Why not skip the double optin process altogether?”
It’s tempting to switch to a single optin model, but after much investigation, I choose double optin for these reasons:
It’s more profitable
Every case study I’ve seen confirms that a double-optin-email list is more responsive…
… This MailChimp report confirms everything I need to know on the value of getting a double optin.
Double opt-in lists have better open rates:

Double opt-in lists have a 114% increase in clicks as compared to single opt-in lists:

A double opt-in list lowers your undeliverable rate by 48.3%:

Double opt-in lists even boast a lower unsubscribe rate, too:
Avoids “blacklists”
Email Service Providers split out emails into two “co-op” sending channels.
Single-optin emails are delivered via one IP address and double-optin emails are sent via another IP address. As a result, single-optin deliveries tend to show up on ISP-banned lists… and as a result email delivery rates plummet.
On the flip side, double-optin emails have much higher delivery rates because they’re delivered via more “trusted” IPs.
Eliminate “form spam”
A growing number of spammers use software to submit website URLs as an email address (in the super slim hope that we list owners will click to their spam site).
These spammers never confirm or respond… but instead inflate the size of our lists (which costs us money).
Needless to say, requiring a confirmation optin halts “form spam” dead in its tracks.
Saves you money
If you’re charged per subscriber and not getting a confirmation, you’re paying more money for a lower-quality list.
The good news is there’s a fast, easy (and FREE) way to SIGNFICANTLY boost your optin confirmation rates…
… The secret is to giveaway a valuable bonus on your subscription thank-you page AND word it in just the right way – like this:

This thank-you page works like crazy.
James tested something similiar to this over three years ago on one of his lists, and was able to consistently get 85%+ confirmation rates.
I’ve got some bad news and
really good news…
Now here’s the bad news… coming up with a valuable bonus takes a lot of time.
The last thing you want to do is give away junk. That tells your new subscribers that you really don’t care about them.
Instead, you want to AMAZE your new subscribers.
Give them a bonus gift that could easily sell as its own standalone infoproduct that could sell between $19.00 and $49.00.
Unfortunately, crafting a valuable bonus giveaway takes a long time, requires a lot of effort and takes attention away from you growing list of things to do.
But wouldn’t it be great if you could ”borrow” a valuable infoproduct from a professionally-trained writer and give it away as if you created it yourself?
If so, I’ve got some really good news for you.
Check this out…
… I just launched a new service that offers you high-quality information products to help you boost your subscription rates (and get those pesky double-optin confirmations).
These are not those crappy PLR or widely-circulated ebooks that everyone knows about. Instead, they’re professionally written “how to” and online reference guides that could easily sell for $100.00 each.
And here’s the best part – this service is FREE because each author is looking for extra exposure.
So we win because we’re able to instantly offer an amazing bonus gift to give away, and these authors win because they don’t have to pay for expensive advertising to promote their own website.

I’ve sold a number of list building training guides so I hope a lot of my subscribers now have email lists of their own.
If not, why not? Pick up a copy of 100 Subscribers Per Day and follow my list building plan to get your email list going.
Even if you have 100 subscribers, 10,000 subscribers or 100,000 subscribers, here are five ways to make more money while still maintaining your relationship with them.
1. Educate & THEN Sell
Some of my most successful product promotions have involved me educating my subscribers and then selling the solution; or by providing real life results from using the system or by following the guide and then sharing those results with my subscribers.
For example, I bought The Lincoln List a month or so ago. It revealed a strategy to get thousands of visitors to your squeeze page really, really fast. I read it, thought it could work and so sent a promotion to my subscribers. It sold pretty well but it wasn’t exactly flying off the shelf.
Two days later, after I’d experienced some results using the method, I wrote this blog post and mailed it to my subscribers. That post resulted in a huge number of sales and converted clicks into sales at something like 23%!
Test the products you recommend, share your results and your sales will go through the roof.
Similarly, about seven or eight months ago a new product came out called Nano Continuity. It reveals how to set up really simple $5-10 per month continuity sites and how to attract hundreds or thousands of members. I bought it, loved it and wrote this blog post revealing how I was going to use it to make $500 per day.
That blog post resulted in a huge number of sales and I was competing with some of the biggest marketers in the world in the JV league table (even though I was unaware of the competition when I initially promoted.)
2. Send More Emails
This is just common sense really.
I try to make sure that at least 50% of my emails contain pure educational content that can be used to help the reader make more money. The other 50% are promotional emails that generate me a profit (but I still only recommend stuff I know you’ll find value from).
Therefore if I send two emails to my subscribers per week, that will mean one content email and one promotional email per week.
But, if the next week I send four emails, that will include two promotional emails which will effectively double my sales.
There’s obviously a limit to how many emails you can send without pissing off your subscribers. Four emails per week is a good number, I’ve found.
3. Sell Solo Ads
This is a good way to make quick cash if you are in desperate need but I’d advise against regularly doing this because it could burn your relationship.
You can sell solo ads to fellow marketers in your niche for around $.3-.5 per click. Therefore if you can send 100 clicks you could charge $30-50.
You’d usually only want to send to a free offer because firstly you’ll be able to get more clicks (and therefore more money), and secondly it won’t harm your relationship with your subscribers so much.
4. Ad Swap
This is an indirect way of profiting from our subscribers. It involves us leveraging our current email list to get more subscribers.
An ad swap involves two marketers with email lists in a similar market sending a dedicated email promoting each other’s’ free offer.
It’s a great way to get new subscribers and you can generate instant revenue from these subscribers with one time offers after opting-in, from follow-up emails and broadcasts, and having more subscribers enables you to ad swap with bigger partners who can send more subscribers.
Again, I don’t recommend doing ad swaps too often. Once or twice a month is more than enough.
5. Encourage Your Subscribers To Spread The Word
This is another way to use your subscribers as leverage to get more subscribers.
I do this in two ways.
Firstly, when I send my subscribers to read my blog posts (like this one!) I encourage them to Tweet, Facebook Like and share on other social media platforms. I’ve got a core group of subscribers who do this for me on almost all of my blog posts and I’m incredibly grateful.
This social media sharing brings me more traffic and I can then turn them into subscribers.
Secondly, I try to turn my subscribers into affiliates for my products. This is one of the twenty affiliate finding and recruiting strategies I shared in my latest report Affiliate Sales Army.
Affiliates send traffic to my product salespages and I capture buying subscribers from those who download my product, and I capture prospects from the exit pop-up that I have when visitors leave my page.
Your subscribers are your biggest asset. Look after them, treat them well, don’t send them junk, don’t promote every offer under the sun, but utilise these five methods to increase your bottom line.
Thanks for reading and if you have any out of the box ideas to make more money from your subscribers while still maintaining a positive relationship with them, then leave a comment below. And don’t forget to Tweet, Like or Share this post if you found value from it

Today I have some really exciting results from an experiment I ran. My initial results aren’t extraordinary, but it was a half assed effort just to test out a unique list building strategy I discovered. I also did a lot wrong so my next campaign is sure to be more successful.
I say I discovered it, but it was actually something I learned from Eric James and Bruce Boretsky with their new special report The Lincoln List.
I recommended this product a few days ago and said I’d share my results using the method once I had some data.
I now have that data and in this blog post I will reveal the exact details of my list building experiment, what I did wrong, what modifications I’m going to make, and how you can use The Lincoln List method yourself to get crazy traffic, rapid influxes of new subscribers and mega affiliate commissions.
Unfortunately it would be a bit unfair of me to share exactly what the traffic source is since I’d effectively be stealing it from Eric and Bruce but I’ll share details of the traffic I received and the number of subscribers I generated and then you can make an informed decision as to whether or not to invest in getting yourself a copy of The Lincoln List.
Here we go…
On Tuesday December 13th, approximately one hour after reading through the Lincoln List, I set up my first campaign.
I paid just over $18 and in exchange I would receive 8,000 clicks. I decided to send traffic to a really short squeeze page that gave away a free report called Automatic List Building Machines – a report about list building, surprisingly.
You can buy traffic in 1,000 visitor batches and you can select the location of each set of visitors. For example, it’s $4 per 1,000 US and UK visitors, $3 per 1,000 Australia, NZ, Ireland visitors, and $2 or less for visitors from other locations such as India. You can also buy “Proxy Traffic” – I don’t know what it means but it is only $0.40 per 1,000 visitors so I bought 2k worth of traffic from there.

From inside the dashboard of this traffic source it’s showing that it has sent 8,140 visitors. Google Analytics is showing me 6,710 visitors to that page and my Aweber web form is showing 9,142 unique displays so we’ll just assume approximately 8,000 visitors saw my squeeze page.
Of those 8,000 visitors I had 111 form submissions which is around a 1.3% conversion. However, only 43 of those email submissions went on to confirm their email address so I ended up with 43 confirmed subscribers.

So, for my $18 investment I received 43 double opt-in subscribers. Not sensational, but certainly not to be sniffed at.
Plus, I didn’t notice much difference in traffic quality between the US/UK $4 per thousand traffic and the $0.40 proxy traffic. This means I could now go and spend $40 and get 100,000 visitors using just proxy traffic.
And believe me I’ll be testing this shortly. In fact, I can’t wait!
Here are a few things I think I did wrong, and a few adjustments I’m going to be making in my next campaign which I will be setting up ASAP. (I’d of done it already but I’ve been travelling the country visiting family and preparing for Daisy’s birthday in a few days and this is the first chance of been able to get on my laptop).
1. Here’s how the traffic arrives at your page. They click a link which is supposed to take them to a destination, but before they reach the destination, they arrive at your page. They have to click “Skip this ad” to continue their journey. I was simply showing people my standard squeeze page, but a more eye catching page that grabbed their attention would have converted MUCH better.
2. The traffic you get is real human beings from all walks of life and with different passions and interests. The chances are, only a tiny fraction of them knew that list building on the internet even existed, and even fewer would know why it was so important. That’s why my opt-in rate was so low – no one was interested. A more generalised offer that would appeal to more people (think weight loss, money making, health etc) would have yielded a better response. I’m getting ready to set up my weight loss campaign tomorrow.
3. If I wasn’t using double opt-in I would have 111 subscribers instead of 43. Aweber don’t allow me to use double opt-in, although I believe I can request it and they can either accept or deny. If they deny perhaps I’ll set up a second account with another autoresponder company and try using single opt-in.
This is a really exciting method that can deliver huge volumes of traffic really, really quickly. Take a look at my Google Real Time Analytics after my campaign went live.

My first campaign got me 8,000 visitors and 43 new subscribers for a cost of $18.
My next campaign is going to do much better using the knowledge I’ve gleaned and the mistakes I’ve made and I can’t wait for it to go live.
If you think this is a method you’d like to try then pick up a copy of The Lincoln List for yourself.
Sorry I couldn’t be more specific about the method but I think it would be out of order for me to buy a product and then instantly go and share the method with my subscribers.
I hope you understand and thanks for reading.

Imagine being able to blast a promotion to thousands of targeted, interested and engaged subscribers and then watching sale, after sale, after sale notifications flood your inbox.
Having your own email list is immensely powerful, but most people don’t know how to go about building one.
In this “epic” article, I’m going to reveal 50 strategies that you can employ to start adding more and more subscribers to your email list every single day.
Before we start, if you want to receive updates when new posts are published to the blog – and to receive a free copy of my best selling guide Accelerated List Building – please enter your email address into the form below.
Let’s get going…
I’m going to split this list up into a few sub-categories. First, I’ll reveal some ways to get more traffic to our squeeze page because it makes sense that the more traffic we get, the more subscribers we will get; then I’m going to reveal a few methods you can employ to use the power of a blog to generate more subscribers; after that I’ll show you how to use your own product to get more leads and finally I’ll reveal some conversion strategies to make sure you convert as much of your traffic into subscribers.
Traffic Strategies
1. Without a doubt, one of the best strategies to get more traffic and subscribers is to guest post on other blogs. Create a fantastic piece of content and convince one of the top blogs in your market to publish it. Link back to your opt-in page within – or at the end – of the article. Here’s an article revealing how I have used guest posting to get over 1,000 visitors per day: How To Guest Post Your Way To Server Crushing Traffic
2. Answer related questions on Yahoo Answers and include a subtle link in some (not all) of your answers back to your opt-in page. It’s important you don’t link back in every one of your answers or you’ll get flagged and banned. I’ve used Yahoo Answers to generate over 3,000 visitors from just a few hours of work over three years ago. Here’s how I did that… 3,108 Unique Visitors From 3 Hours Work
3. Find active forums in your market, create an account and start contributing to the discussion. After a few days and a few posts add a signature with a link back to your opt-in page. Don’t be spammy, don’t be self-promotional, just get involved and be helpful and people will click your link and join your email list.
4. Submitting articles to article directories with a link back to your opt-in page is still an incredibly effective list building strategy. Recently I paid $40 to have eight articles written. I submitted each one to EzineArticles.com only. A short while later I checked in to see how these articles were doing and was pretty shocked. The eight articles had been read over 6,000 times and generated 949 clicks. I worked out that each $5 article generated 30 subscribers at a cost of just $0.17 per subscriber. Plus this value will continue to decrease as more people read my articles, click my link and opt-in to my email list. Plus, I could now take these articles and submit them to other article directories, too.
5. Posting intelligent comments on authority blogs in your market and including a link back to your opt-in page is never going to generate you thousands of subscribers, but it will get you a little trickle – and remember, it all adds up. To make the most of this strategy subscribe to authority bloggers email lists and when they notify you of a new post, head over ASAP and leave your comment.
6. Trade your time and skills in exchange for an email list owner sending you free subscribers. Network with the big dogs in your market and find out what you can do for them in order for them to send you subscribers. Read how Ben Settle did it and how you can do the same here.
7. Running Google Adwords ads are one of the most cost effective ways to drive instant traffic to your opt-in page and to generate subscribers. If you want really cheap clicks then you can run your ads on the content network (these are ads displayed on people’s websites rather than on search results). You can get these clicks for $0.10 and under.
8. Facebook ads are another paid traffic method you can implement to get high quality targeted subscribers. Here’s a great article about running Facebook ads.
9. Participating in giveaway events is a fantastic way to get free subscribers. A giveaway event involves a number of marketers coming together and submitting a free gift in exchange for an email address. Each marketer sends their subscribers to download the free gifts and the subscribers can pick and choose which gifts they sign up to get for free. These aren’t so common anymore but if you find an event, sign up and contribute a gift.
10. If you have an existing list, then contact a fellow list owner in your market and ask to do an “ad swap”. This involves each marketer sending an email to their subscribers encouraging them to join the others email list. It’s a great way to get a quick subscriber boost and to build relationships with others in your niche.
11. Solo ads work in much the same way and are hugely effective if you’re just getting started and want to give your email list a quick subscriber boost. Instead of swapping promotions with someone else, you simply pay someone to send your ad to their subscribers. If you want to learn from one of the top experts at buying solo ads, and to see the real results he’s achieving, take a look at Reed Floren’s solo ad blog.
12. Take some of your existing articles and turn them into PDF files and submit them to document sharing sites. Jason Fladlien reveals how he uses this strategy very effectively in this blog post.
13. If you are giving away a free eBook in exchange for an opt-in, then submit your opt-in page to free eBook directories. Take a look at this blog post to see how I’m doing this.
14. Put a “Refer A Friend” form on your subscription completed page. Offer a freebie in exchange for referring three friends.
15. After a subscriber has joined your email list, allow them to download another freebie if they Tweet or Facebook Like your sign up page. Read this article revealing how ViperChill.com got 700 new subscribers with this neat little trick. You can use CloudFlood.com to do this for you.
16. Get interviewed by others in your market. If you have any sort of following then you’ll probably get the occasional interview request every so often. Take those opportunities and use it to convince listeners to join your email list – while also delivering incredible content, of course.
17. If you can think of anything newsworthy in your business, write a press release and submit it to some of the free press release websites. You’ll get some direct traffic and a lot of link backs which will increase your search engine ranking.
18. Get your email list featured in newsletter and ezine directories. Here’s a great list of ezine directories.
19. Take some of your existing articles and turn them into videos. Publish them on Youtube and put a link back to your squeeze page in the description and within the video. Plus, syndicate these same videos to other video sharing sites using a service like Tube Mogul.
20. Create useful Squidoo lenses and regularly link back to your squeeze page. Google did “slap” Squidoo recently and they took a significant dive in the rankings but now they’re starting to climb again. Start creating lenses and funnel that traffic back to your opt-in page.
Get Blogging
I’ve included this as a sub-section because a blog gives as a huge amount of reach that you wouldn’t have with just a squeeze page and it enables us to drive traffic using methods that wouldn’t work for a squeeze page. You can get an unlimited amount of traffic with a blog and hopefully, if you set your site up right, a large proportion of these subscribers will join your email list.
21. Make sure you have opt-in forms in prominent positions on your blog. Have one at the top of the sidebar, perhaps have a pop over form and try to include an opt-in form at the end of each article.
22. Encourage readers to share your content on social sites like Facebook and Twitter. Make sure you have sharing buttons on your website so they just have to click once to share. I’ve got these at the end of this blog post if you want to see an example.
23. Create more content and target keyphrases that you can rank for in the search engines. Build backlinks to this content and get it to the top of Google for a passive traffic stream that turns into more subscribers. Read this article to find out how I find these keyphrases and get my blog to the top of Google for them.
24. Create a “premium quality” piece of content. Post only a teaser of it and require the reader to opt-in to read the whole article. If your teaser is good then you can get sky-high opt-in rates.
25. Invite guest authors to contribute to your blog and then when you publish their content, encourage them to share it with their Twitter and Facebook followers and to perhaps link to it from their own blog.
26. Create “link bait” content. This is when you create a piece of content that is designed to get people talking about it on social sites and linking to it from their blogs. That could be because it’s controversial or because it’s fantastic quality. This post I’m writing right now is designed to get people linking to it and sharing it because I hope it is fantastic quality and something people would be proud to share – if you agree, please use the Tweet and Facebook Share buttons at the end to share
27. Add at least one image to each blog post you make. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but you can get a lot of traffic from Google Image search. Make sure the title of your image and alt text are related to what the image is. Aside from that, getting traffic from Google Images is more down to luck than judgement, I feel. I buy my images from iStockPhoto.com. My health blog currently gets about 50 visitors per day from Google Image search.
28. Hold a competition on your blog whereby one or more lucky readers can win a prize. It doesn’t have to be an iPad or anything expensive like that. Just make sure you make it easy to enter and perhaps require that in order to be entered you need to Tweet or Facebook Like the competition. Encourage entrants to opt-in to be notified of the results. Publicize your competition by submitting a press release and asking fellow bloggers to link to you.
29. If your blog doesn’t already auto opt-in readers who comment on your content then configure it to do so. Here’s a neat little plug-in that lets you do that. It’s $57 so will probably only be worthwhile if your blog is getting a decent number of comments already.
30. Take one of your top pieces of content and run an advertising campaign with Stumbleupon Paid Discovery. It costs $0.05 per visitor and I normally run about $25 worth. That means my blog post (which has my opt-in forms) gets exposed to 500 visitors. I know the quality of visitors aren’t great, but I still get a few opt-ins, PLUS some of these visitors also “Thumps Up” your page which gets you free stumbles and then these visitors “Thumps Up” the page to. A few also Facebook Like and Tweet about the page which enhances the viral nature of this traffic generation method. Read this article from Search Engine Journal about using Stumbleupon Paid Discovery.
Create Your Own Product
I’ve included this as a sub-section because having our own product, just like having our own blog, gives us an opportunity to take advantage of traffic generation methods that work exclusively when selling our own product.
31. Create a high value, low priced product. Pay affiliates 100% commissions on all sales they generate. Dedicate a significant amount of time to building relationships and finding affiliates. Automatically collect the email addresses of all customers and add them to your email list. Read this article revealing three clever ways to find affiliates.
32. Find affiliate partners selling their own product and encourage them to put their affiliate link for your product on their download page.
33. Find affiliate partners with their own blog and encourage them to write a review of your product or to put a banner promoting your product on their blog.
34. Find affiliate partners with their own email list and encourage them to broadcast an email to their subscribers promoting your product. Try to also get them to add a message to their auto-responder sequence.
35. For affiliates selling products more expensive than yours, allow them to give your product away for free as a bonus on their download page but require their customers to opt-in to your email list before doing so. That way you build a list of buyers without having to sell anything yourself. Here’s a great article I wrote about this strategy.
36. Add an opt-in form somewhere within your salespage encouraging readers to opt-in to download a free gift. This will help you capture some subscribers even if they don’t buy.
37. Similarly, you can add an exit pop up that appears when someone tries to leave your page. This is a fairly contentious issue as some don’t agree with it. I’m not a huge fan but do occasionally use one exit pop up. About 7-8% of the traffic that was going to leave my site now become subscribers which is quite a significant amount of new subscribers.
38. If you are in the internet marketing niche, then pay $40 to post your product as a Warrior Special Offer. Give it away for free if you like or just slash the price. You’ll get a nice little influx of sales and subscribers. Read this article revealing how I generated 500 buying subscribers in one weekend with a Warrior Special Offer.
39. Collect the email addresses of all your affiliates and send them emails with new tools they can use to promote your product. Announce time sensitive affiliate competitions to encourage them to ramp up their sales.
40. Perform an ad swap with your list of affiliates and another product owners list of affiliates. You suggest to your affiliates to promote this other persons product, and they do the same for you. You will get more subscribers who are affiliates, and those affiliates will send you more subscribers by promoting your product. (How many times did I just say “affiliates?)
How To Convert More Visitors Into Subscribers
Improving our conversions is arguably more important than getting more traffic. There are always improvements that we can make to convince more subscribers to join our email list. Imagine we are generating 1,000 visitors per day to our blog and currently converting 5% into subscribers – that’s 50 subscribers per day. Now if we make a few changes and get a 10% opt-in rate, that’s 100 subscribers per day with just a few minutes of tweaks.
41. On your blog and your opt-in page give away a free special report, audio or video rather than asking them to subscribe for a free newsletter or for updates. I’ve found this converts much higher since people love instant gratification.
42. On both your blog and your squeeze page, try to have at least one opt-in form above the fold. This means readers don’t have to scroll down to find out how to join your email list.
43. On your opt-in forms have a big submit button. Tests have shown that bigger buttons convert more readers into subscribers.
44. Increase the trust of your website by having a privacy policy and terms of use. Also state on your opt-in form that their email address will never be rented or sold and that their personal information will be kept private.
45. If you are requiring a subscriber to confirm their email address before they are added to your email list, then make sure you make it clear exactly what they have to do to confirm. Give them clear instructions after they have opted-in. I’ve also found that promising a free bonus gift if they confirm has improved confirmation rates from 40% to 85%.
46. If using an exit pop-up when someone tries to leave your website, make sure the page you send them to is ultra-short. They’ve already decided to leave your website so you need to convince them to stay in seconds. Take a look at one of my exit pages that encourages exit traffic from 100 Subscribers Per Day to opt-in.
47. Create multiple versions of your squeeze page and salespage. Use Google Website Optimizer to run all variations simultaneously. Analyse the data and see which one performs best. Once a winner has been identified run that alongside another page that you create. Test them both, find a winner and then test the winner against another. With each split test your opt-in rate and your sales conversion will gradually increase as you find what tweaks work.
48. On your blog, create really high quality content. If a reader comes to your blog and loves your content they’ll want to subscribe so that they can receive blog updates.
49. Be sure to include multiple opt-in forms on your blog. Have one at the top of the sidebar, link to your squeeze page in the top navigation menu, include an opt-in form at the end of your blog post, perhaps have a pop-over opt-in form and link to your squeeze page from within your content when relevant.
50. Get people to like you. If you can get your blog readers, squeeze page readers and salespage readers to like you, then they will want to join your list. Be yourself, be personable, be original and not only will everyone want to be on your list, they’ll also open all your emails, click your links and buy the products you recommend. And after all, that’s why we want subscribers.
====================================
Above I’ve shared 50 ways you can get more people to opt-in to your email list. Some of the methods are more effective than others; some will generate only a few extra subscribers each month; but some are immensely powerful and are capable of producing thousands more subscribers to your email list.
I don’t expect you to implement all of the above methods (I certainly don’t use all of them) but if you gradually start incorporating these strategies into your email list building plan then you’ll notice your daily number of subscribers continues to rise and rise – and so will your income!
What’s your favourite method to get more subscribers? Do you have any strategies that aren’t included in the fifty above? Leave a comment below letting everyone know.
And if you’ve found value in this blog post and you’d like to say “Thanks” then you can do so by simply Tweeting, Facebook sharing or Google Plus 1’ing this to anyone you think would be interested. The buttons are below if you wish to do so. I will be incredibly grateful.
Thanks,
James Penn
This is going to be a really valuable blog post that I hope can really make a difference to your business and your life.
When it comes to building an online business, you kind of know what you need to do after a couple of months of reading eBooks, listening to audios, watching videos and through your own experiments.
I expect most of you do know how to make money, but you may lack direction, or a specific plan. You may jump from idea to idea never really making a success of one thing.
But in reality a focussed, concentrated effort doing one thing is what’s going to propel you to making a full time income online.
And that’s why in this blog post I’m going to share a list building blueprint that you can just copy to grow your email list by more and more every single day.
If you set it up right and you dedicate serious time to implementing the action plan then each and every day your income will grow.
Here we go…
My Step-By-Step, Do-This, Do-That
List Building Blueprint
List building is a great way to get going. It really is a business model whereby success breeds success. If you build an email list of 200 people and you blast an email to them and make $100 then that’s going to motivate you a huge amount to hit 2,000 subscribers because you know you can make $1,000 from an email blast.
When I first started building my email lists many years ago, it was much easier. Here’s exactly what I did.
I set up a three page website with: a squeeze page, a confirmation page and a thank you page. I wrote one or two 250 word articles each day and submitted them to EzineArticles.com. After a little while EZA was sending me 25+ visitors per day and I was ranking in the search engines on page 1 and 2 for keyphrases with 10,000+ monthly searches. I was on page one of Yahoo for phrases like “abdominal exercises”, “abdominal workout” and “how to get flat abs” and it was sending me a crazy amount of traffic.
Unfortunately, EZA requires you write 400 word articles now and it doesn’t send even a tenth of the traffic it used to. Plus, Google does not like squeeze pages one bit. You’ll find it very hard to rank one these days.
I’m not going to say squeeze pages are dead, because used in the right way for the right purposes they are still very powerful, but we need to find a different approach to list building that doesn’t require us slaving away for hours each day generating traffic to our squeeze pages.
Instead, let’s leverage everyone else’s resources and get them to build our list for us.
Sound like a plan? Here’s what you need to do…
The Set-Up
This is the part where the majority of the work happens and I’ve been through this set-up process a few times so I’ll try to be as concise as possible.
1. You need to create a red hot product that deals with an in-demand topic within your market. Make it super high quality but it doesn’t have to be a mega home study course. A short report, video or audio would suffice. I can’t stress how important it is that it is a high quality product, though. That’s absolutely key.
2. Write a short, punchy salespage with lots of bullets and short paragraphs. Perhaps have some high quality graphics. Price your product low – sub $20, but probably more like $10.
3. Set your product up with an affiliate program or script that allows you to pay 100% commissions and also allows you to give the product away for free from the same salespage using coupon codes. I’m sure there are many scripts that can do this but the only one I’ve used is Rapid Action Profits and it works great.
4. Set everything up so that you pay affiliates 100% commission and so that customers are automatically opted-in to your email list when they buy (RAP does this) and then redirected to your download page.
5. Optionally add a one-time offer to your main offer. It could be a selection of resale rights or private label products. I recommend paying affiliates 100% commission on this, too. Believe me it will be more profitable in the long run. I’d also recommend adding an affiliate promotion on your download page as well. This will give you a little instant revenue that you can use to pump back into your business.
6. Finally set up an autoresponder sequence (at least a few days’ worth of messages) and include a few content messages that deliver value and a few messages that promote affiliate products.
When everything is set-up, move onto the daily action plan.
The Daily Action Plan
If you do the below activities every day (or at least five times a week) then soon enough you’ll be generating enough subscribers every single day to provide you with a full time income.
1. Find email list owners in your market and build relationships with them. Try and get them to promote your product. If they send a broadcast promoting your product, then try to then get them to add a message to their autoresponder sequence. This is key for long term sales without you having to lift another finger.
How To Find Them:
- Type into Google “Powered by Aweber email marketing” in quotes followed by your keyword.
- Type in keywords to Google related to your market and often in the Sponsored Ads you’ll find people building email lists.
- Most people selling a digital product are also building an email list either with an opt-in form on their salespage or with an exit pop-up. Find products in your market in affiliate directories, e.g the Clickbank marketplace, the Paydotcom marketplace, RAPBank.com and other directories.
2. Find bloggers in your market and convince them to write a review of your product, or to include links to your product within their blog content. Perhaps give them some banners they can put in their sidebar. Normally, these bloggers will have email lists as well so ask them to send a solo email promoting your product and to add a message to their autoresponder sequence.
How To Find Them:
- Type into Google “keyword blog”.
- Type into Google “Powered by WordPress” followed by a keyword related to your product.
- Simply type in a variety of keywords related to your product into Google and visit the top sites. Chances are most of them are blogs.
- Type into Google “top 10/50/100 keyword blogs” to find a list of some of the authority blogs in your market.
- Go to Google Blog Search and search for blogs.
- Go to Technorati.com and look through the blog listings.
3. This is where the discount coupon facility comes in handy that I mentioned in the set up stage. Find product owners in your market selling products similar to yours. Email them and offer them the chance to give away your paid product on their download page. Provide them with a coupon they can give to their customers. Tell them to send customers to your salespage (via their affiliate link) armed with a coupon and they can enter that to download your product for free. Before their customer is taken to the download page however they see the one-time offer (where the person who sent them earns a commission) and then after the OTO they need to enter their email address to access the download page.
The product owner you approached gets to offer an additional bonus and earn an affiliate commission and you get a new subscriber who buys stuff in your market. Win win!
How To Find Them:
- Get on the email lists of as many people in your market and see what products they are promoting.
- Go to affiliate directories like Clickbank, Paydotcom, RAPBank and find products in your market.
- Don’t limit yourself to digital products either. Contact physical product sellers and offer them the opportunity to give your product away. For example, if you are selling a product about growing beautiful flowers, then get in touch with websites selling gardening equipment or plant seeds and bulbs.
- Bonus Tip: Find membership sites in your market and contact the owner offering them the chance to give away your product for free to their entire membership database.
These aren’t the only three things you should do, but if you do only these things and you do them consistently you will be building a highly targeted, high quality email list that generates revenue from the emails you send.
Plus, there are thousands of likely email list owners, there are thousands of bloggers and there are thousands of product owners you can approach. You will never run out of potential affiliates. And if working all day approaching affiliates doesn’t interest you, then hire someone else to do it for you.
For those of you that know me, you’ll know I sometimes like to lay thinks out with possible results. It motivates me when I do it and I’m sure it motivates you, too.
Imagine that every day you…
- Convince just one email list owner to add a message promoting your product into their autoresponder sequence and assume that on average each list owner is averaging 25 new subscribers per day. That means 25 people will be exposed to your product each day. After a month you will have convinced 30 email list owners and your product will be exposed to 750 targeted subscribers each day. After three months that will be 2,250 per day. After six months 5,000 per day. And after a year it will be 10,000 targeted prospects exposed to your product every single day.
- Convince one blogger to include a link or banner promoting your product somewhere on their blog. Imagine that on average each blogger sends just 10 visitors per day. That’s 300 per day after a month, 900 per day after three months, 1,800 per day after six months and 3,600 per day after a year.
- Convince one product owner to add your product as a bonus on their download page. Assuming each product owner gets 10 sales per day, that’s an extra 5+ subscribers per day for you because you can assume most of their customers will also want your product – especially as it is free.
Also imagine that every so often, perhaps a couple of times per week, you convince…
- An email list owner to blast a promotion for your product to their list of 500, 5,000 or 50,000 subscribers.
- A blogger to publish a post dedicated to reviewing your product and then their thousands of feed subscribers rush over to read what they have to say about your product (hopefully good things!)
- A membership site owner to notify all 100, 500 or 1,000+ paying members that they can go and download your product completely free.
This list building system is so simple and so effective.
The beauty of it is that you hardly have to do any of the work.
Other list owners work their butt off paying for traffic to generate subscribers and then they send them to you for free by promoting your product.
Bloggers spend hours writing content and trying out the new blog promotion strategies and then send their visitors to you.
Product owners slave away trying to build relationships with the gurus in your market and then when the gurus eventually promote their product, you get all their hard earned customers, too.
I know the above makes it sound like a bit of a one way relationship, but remember the list owners and bloggers earn 100% commissions on your front end offer and one-time offer, and the product owners get to offer an unannounced bonus to their customers and earn 100% commissions on the one-time offer.
Both parties win. They earn loads of commissions (hopefully) and you build the most responsive, targeted email list completely for free.
=============================
If list building is a route you’d like to take to achieve your dreams of building a full time business online but you weren’t sure how to get started or what to do once you had started, then I really hope this blog post helps you achieve that.
If you have any questions or want further help then just leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to help you out.
Also, I’m testing something out that I hope you can help me with…
I’ve recently added those Social Sharing buttons that you see below. I’ve never really focussed on social marketing for my traffic, but I know it’s becoming more and more important.
So if you found value in this post, or if you think anyone you know would find value in this post, then please either Facebook Share, Tweet or Google Plus.
Have a fantastic rest of the day and I hope you can turn this blueprint into subscribers and profits.
Thanks,
James Penn
If you’ve been following my blog for any length of time then you’ll know that I’m not really one for short blog posts. Nearly all of my articles are over 1,500 words with some extending beyond 3,000 words.
But today I hope this WILL be a short one because I just want to briefly outline a simple strategy that you can implement today to start adding more and more subscribers to your email list every day.
Just before I share this strategy, let me just remind you of yesterday’s post…
Yesterday I revealed how I set up a $300-500 per month passive income stream with just 45 minutes work. I know everyone loves passive income so if you want to see how I did it and how you can replicate it, click the link below and read yesterday’s blog post.
My Super Simple $300-500 Per Month Income Stream (opens in new window)
Right, back to today…
Here’s what you can do today – and for many days in the future – to significantly increase the number and quality of subscribers joining your email list.
1. If you haven’t already got one create a quick product in your market. It could be a 10-15 page report or a 1-2 hour video or audio. If you already have a product, that’s great.
2. Find every single person in your market who is selling a product related to yours. It doesn’t matter if they are selling a digital product or a physical product. Find them and make a note of them.
3. Create a special “Download” page for each of these people. The page should follow this format:
- At the top have a line of text that says “Welcome THEIR NAME Customers”
- Mention that they can download your special report, video or audio for free just a bit further down the page, but that if they want to receive free updates, additional freebies and future tips and secrets, then they can enter their email address into the form below.
- Then of course have your opt-in form.
- Below that have the direct download link for your report, video or audio.
- Then, if you’re feeling cheeky, put a small promotion for an affiliate product or another product you are selling.
4. Contact each person and offer your product as a bonus. Tell them they can offer your special report, video or audio as a special bonus freebie for all their customers. Show them the personalized download page you have created for their customers and ask them if they would like you to make any amendments.
5. Explain that all they need to do is put a link to your freebie on their download page or in their thank you email and that it will be an unexpected treat for their customers and will help to establish a positive relationship.
That’s it.
Simply get in touch with everyone you found selling products in your market and see the response. Of course, a few will say no, more will just ignore you, but if you can just get one or two per day to put a link on their thank you page then you will start generating high quality subscribers on a daily basis.
Plus, remember not to limit yourself to digital products.
Let’s say you have an anti-aging report you want to give away. Get in touch with all the sellers of anti-aging creams, formulas and miracle treatments.
Perhaps you’ve got a video about growing vegetables in your own garden. Get in touch with everyone selling gardening tools, or veg seeds or gardening books.
There are hundreds, probably thousands, of people selling stuff in your market and if you can capture just 1% of their customers, you will have one of the biggest, most responsive email lists in your market.
Get out and make it happen!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. I did manage to keep it a bit shorter than normal but it’s still exceeded 700 words. If you want to learn more about this strategy then I cover it, plus nine other methods, of building massive niche email lists in my guide 100 Subscribers Per Day.
Plus, as it’s Friday today and with the thought that you might have a few hours to spare this weekend, then now might be the perfect time to grab Lee McIntyre’s Internet Automation Plan. It’s his former $997 physical course, but you can get instant digital access for a one-time fee of just $5.

Before I start, if you didn’t read my email yesterday then read it now.
Let’s be honest, we all want instant results. It can be quite disheartening knowing that the effort you are putting in won’t produce any noticeable results for weeks, or even months.
That’s why I’ve prepared this blog post sharing ten strategies you can implement today that will generate you subscribers TODAY.
I’ve suggested that each strategy will generate you 25 subscribers. That’s actually a little lie. Some of these strategies will only generate you 5-10 subscribers today, but some will generate 50+ so I averaged it out.
In this list I link to some useful blog posts from the archive revealing my experiments using the methods so I recommend you read them, too.
Without further ado, let’s get going.
1. Guest Blogging
Guest blogging is where you publish a unique piece of content to someone else’s blog and in exchange you get a backlink to your website.
You can use this strategy to drive traffic to your squeeze page.
Here’s how you can use this strategy to get super-fast traffic from other people’s highly popular blogs.
Firstly, find as many blogs in your market. Second, contact each blog owner and ask if they would like you to contribute a unique piece of content, describe your expertise and tell them you will promote the post on Twitter and Facebook. Ask what topic suggestions they would like content on. As soon as a blog owner gets back to you with their topic, write a 400 word quality article, include a resource box with a link to your squeeze page and send it to the blog owner.
Do this with as many blogs as possible. You will not only get instant traffic, but a nice little search engine boost that will remain for a long time.
I guest post a lot in the health niche and there are two or three blogs I post to that send me 100+ visitors in the first 24 hours of going live. Plus, once you’ve submitted a number of quality posts, the blog owners sometimes give you access to their WordPress Admin Panel so you can log-in yourself, construct your post and publish it. When you reach that point it will be truly instant traffic.
2. Yahoo Answers
Yahoo Answers enables members to post questions that they are struggling to find an answer to and have the Yahoo Answers community do their best to answer their questions or point them in the right direction.
You can, if you are careful and don’t spam too much, use Yahoo Answers to drive traffic to your squeeze page.
Simply answer questions related to your market, give a thorough and intelligent answer and leave a link back to your squeeze page. Actually, it would be more effective if you were to leave a link back to a post on your blog that further answers the questions. On this post have opt-in forms and convert visitors into subscribers.
I wrote a post a few months ago revealing how I’ve used Yahoo Answers to generate over 3,000 visitors with just three hours of work. Have a read of this blog post at the link below
3,108 Unique Visitors From 3 Hours Work
3. Google Adwords
I haven’t used Google Adwords for a while but if you want traffic and subscribers fast there’s no better solution.
Plus, you can get clicks for just a few cents using the Content network (especially if you use image ads).
Google doesn’t like sending traffic to squeeze pages however so make sure you have other elements on your page, such as articles or a blog.
4. Forum Marketing
We’ve all heard of this strategy, but if you want quick traffic and subscribers it’s a great method to add to your arsenal.
Simply find as many high traffic forums in your niche, find out if they allow signature links, if they do then register there, create your signature and start posting helpful, insightful comments WITHOUT pushing people to your site.
If you contribute good content then members will naturally gravitate to your squeeze page and join your list. And because they’ve had personal interaction with you on a forum they will be some of your most responsive subscribers.
5. Launch a WSO
Now this only works in the Make Money Online market, but if you’re in this niche then this is a strategy I STRONGLY recommend.
Plus, getting 25 subscribers in a day with this strategy would be disappointing. I generated 500 PAYING subscribers with one WSO in one weekend.
To read about how I did and how you can too, hit the link below.
How I Generated 500 Buying Subscribers This Weekend
6. Solo Ads
A solo ad is when you pay an email list owner a certain amount for them to deliver an email promoting your business – usually your squeeze page.
Sometimes the email list owner writes their own recommendation, but most of the time the advertiser writes the email that gets delivered.
Solo ads are a great way to get instant, targeted, endorsed traffic that turns into subscribers.
To find list owners offering solo ad services you can do a number of things.
Firstly, simply email list owners asking if they offer the service. Secondly, find list owners in directories, such as SoloAdDirectory.com. Finally, find list owners offering solo ad services at The Warrior Forum JV Section.
For more reading on this topic, have a read of my solo ad list building experiment. I added nearly 900 subscribers in two weeks – but it wasn’t all a success! Click the link below to read this case study.
How I Added An Extra 893 Subscribers In 14 Days
7. Ad Swaps
Ad swaps are very similar to solo ads except no payment is made. Instead, email list owners of relatively equal list size and interests promote each other’s squeeze pages.
This is a great way to build a list because there is no monetary expense. Do not overuse this strategy however as your subscribers will become tired of all the squeeze pages and your open rates will take a dive.
Two or three ad swaps per month can give you 100+ new subscriber days on a regular basis – and the number will only grow as your email list size does.
8. Give Your Product Away For Free On Competitors Download Pages
This is one of my favourite list building strategies – it’s so simple.
Here’s how it works.
You contact as many other people in your market who are selling information products related to your product. You offer them the chance to give away your product, which you are currently selling, for free to their customers on their download page.
You explain that if they do, they will also receive 100% of commissions of all one time offer sales that their customers take.
Of course, most people are going to say yes and put a link to your product on their download page. Their customers come to your website, enter their email address and get the product for free.
You get free subscribers who have previously shown that they buy information products and you can then sell other products and affiliate offers to these subscribers.
I realise I’ve not explained this strategy very well here, but that’s because I’ve already written a very detailed article sharing EXACTLY how to make this strategy work for you. You can read it by clicking the link below.
How To Literally Steal Buying Subscribers From Your Competitors
9. Submit To Document Sharing Sites
I’ve used this strategy just once before and it’s generated me over 8,000 visitors at time of writing from about 3 minutes work. I write about that case study here.
You can submit your free eBooks to document sharing sites which will generate you an instant traffic boost and a constant trickle thereafter. I’m no expert at this strategy which is why I’ll let Jason Fladlien explain it in more detail. Click the link below to read his guest post on the blog.
Here’s A Traffic Secret That’s Working Like Crazy
10. Find Affiliates To Promote Your Products
If you are selling a product and have an affiliate program, then the easiest way to get more sales and therefore more subscribers is without a doubt to simply find new affiliates to promote your product.
I guarantee if you have a product that converts well with a good pay out, then if you spent the whole day today approaching affiliates you’d get at least 5 people and that would probably result in an extra 50+ sales.
Anyway, I’ve written a pretty good article revealing three fantastic ways to find affiliates and you can read that by clicking the link below.
3 Clever Ways To Find New Affiliates
——————————
Above I’ve presented, with the help of some blog posts from the archive, how you can add new subscribers today.
Some of the strategies, in fact most of them, will also go on to produce subscribers for many days, weeks and months to come, too.
List building is important. Start building your list now and use these strategies to get you started.

If you read my last post then you’ll have learned about the fantastic blueprint I shared for getting 500 subscribers per day on complete auto-pilot and for free. If you haven’t had a chance to read that yet then I strongly suggest you do.
Just to quickly sum up what I shared, here’s the blueprint very, very briefly.
You build a content site with lots of articles on specific topics in a bigger market and generate traffic from the search engines (and a few other ways). Your traffic will grow and grow and grow until you are getting thousands of visitors per day. The goal is to convert these visitors into subscribers.
And in this blog post I want to quickly share a neat little plug-in that I came across the other day that will help you do just that.
The plug-in allows you to easily add opt-in forms (and stylish opt-in forms at that!) with absolute ease. In fact it’s so easy I set it up myself in about 7-8 minutes.
Before I give you a link to go and get this plug-in, let me show you how I’ve added it to one of my niche sites.
Go to this page and scroll to the end of the post to see the form.
That web form is converting three times better than my previous one, and I can add this form to every single post and page of my site at the click of a button. Previously I was editing every post and pasting my opt-in form code. With over 200 posts that would take a long, long time.
Not only that, but this plug-in enables you to create and insert beautiful, non-intrusive pop-over web forms that convert visitors into subscribers like crazy.
It’s called Premium List Magnet and you can get more details and see a demo by clicking here.
At the time of writing it’s only $27 but I believe it rises to $77 very soon – September 2nd if I remember rightly.
If you have a WordPress blog (in fact it works on normal websites, too) then I strongly suggest you download this plug-in, create a web form in just a few minutes and insert it into all of your posts. If you have existing traffic, you’ll instantly start seeing the new subscriber notifications coming in! And if you don’t have much traffic yet, it will motivate you to start generating some because you know that this traffic will turn into subscribers. And we all know that subscribers = $$$!
Hit the link below, download the plug-in, get your web forms online and watch the subscribers roll in.

And remember to read my last blog post for an in depth plan to 500 subscribers per day.
Thanks for reading,
James Penn
As most of my long term subscribers will be aware, my most recent and all-time best selling product, reveals how you can copy my systems and strategies to generate 100 targeted, revenue generating subscribers every single day.
It’s aptly titled 100 Subscribers Per Day and if you fancy having a read then click the link and pick up a copy. It’s less than $10.
Anyway, since I released that guide I’ve been working on another strategy that has made me realise that 100 subscribers per day is just small fry. In fact, generating 500+ subscribers daily in just one market is certainly within reach.
And it can be done for virtually free, apart from a few dollars to get set up (such as domain, hosting and an autoresponder).
In this blog post I’m going to reveal a fantastic plan that I’m in the process of implementing to start generating 500+ subscribers daily for free.
A Prerequisite
This is not a short term strategy. It’s not for lazy people. It’s not for those of you wanting instant results.
This is for people who want to build a highly targeted email list of prospects that grows at an exponential rate. This is for people who are prepared to work to achieve results. For people who won’t give up if they aren’t rich after a few days.
If you think you’re up for this strategy, then let’s get going…
An Overview
Most people build email lists like this…
They set up a squeeze page and then they try to drive an immense amount of traffic to this squeeze page.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that and I strongly recommend you DO use this strategy.
There’s just one thing you miss out on if you go this route…
You’ll never get any noticeable traffic from the search engines.
Google loves content. It tries its best to rank the best, most useful and most relevant content at the top. If someone searches for “how to lose weight”, you’ll most likely find that the top results are all articles discussing how to lose weight. It won’t be a squeeze page where visitors have to enter their email address to find out this information.
Therefore, if we want to get traffic from the search engines we need content.
This strategy involves creating content that pulls in targeted prospects using the incredible power of the search engines, and then encouraging these visitors to become subscribers.
Here’s how we do it…
Step #1
Content Ideas
The first thing we need to do is come up with some article ideas. What we’ll be doing is creating content based on very specific keyphrases that people in our market would type into Google.
Let’s say for example that we want to build a list of people interested in skin care. Once we have them as subscribers we can sell skin care and beauty guides and products for getting beautiful skin.
The majority of people interested in skin care won’t be typing things like “skin care tips” into Google. They’ll be typing much more specific things. It’s now up to us to find these searches.
To do this I’d go to the Google Keyword Tool and type in something like “for skin”. I’d select “Only show ideas closely related to my search term” and I’d choose “Exact Match”. I’d then click on “Global Monthly Searches” at the top of the column to order it by most searches.
This will show keyphrases being searched in Google that contain the specific keywords “for skin” and it will show me exactly how many searches each phrase gets each month.
Now I’m going to go through every single one of these keywords and make a note of any that I could write an article about. Here’s just a few from the top with their respective number of global monthly searches.
Home remedies for glowing skin > 8100
Olive oil for skin > 8100
Coconut oil for skin > 8100
Best foundation for oily skin > 4400
Tips for fair skin > 3600
Almond oil for skin > 2900
This search actually yields 80 results for keyphrases getting more than 100 searches per month and I assume about half of them I could write an article about.
From the keyphrases I also see that a lot of searches involve the specific keyphrases “dry skin”, “oily skin” and “fair skin” so I type each of these phrases into the search box and replicate the search. I make a note of any phrases I’ve yet to see.
I also notice that a lot of the results refer to an oil for skin, such as olive oil or coconut oil. So I type in “oil for skin” in the search box and replicate the search. This produces 399 results and gives me keyword ideas involving castor, jojoba, argan, grapeseed, sesame, avocado and vitamin E oil for skin.
After a few more searches I could easily have over 100 or more article ideas with each one targeting a very specific keyphrase getting 100+ searches per month and with some getting close to 10k per month – over 300 per day.
And as you search more and more you’ll realise that there are an abundance of related keyphrases that don’t actually contain the word “skin”. For example, people interested in skin care may be searching for keyphrases like “face mask” and then a search for face masks will reveal that “honey face mask” gets nearly 2,000 searches per month, oatmeal face mask gets 1,600 searches per month and that there are 800 more results each with one more keyphrase you can write an article about.
Spend a few hours and come up with at least 50 article titles. You can always get more ideas in the future.
Step #2
Site Set Up
Essentially, what we’ll be building is a content site using the platform WordPress. Most people associate WordPress with blogs but it can also be used to build fully functioning, beautiful content sites.
I’d love to go into detail here about exactly how to set your site up, but I normally pay others to do it for me. I’m rubbish with technology.
You can hire someone for about $100 (maybe even less) to set everything up for you. If you have a spare $60 then I strongly suggest getting the Genesis Framework. It makes setting up and editing your WordPress site much easier and it optimizes it perfectly for the search engines.
If you don’t get Genesis then it is essential you get an SEO plug-in, such as SEO Title Tag. This will enable you to title your posts with the keywords you are targeting to improve your search engine rank.
Get a domain, get hosting, set up WordPress and now we’re ready to get going.
Sidenote: Here’s the WordPress official guide to getting set up and customizing your site: http://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start
Step #3
Your Opt-In Incentive
One last bit of preparation we need to do is to create an opt-in incentive, such as a free report. Don’t worry this is really easy.
We want to build a list of prospects interested in caring for their skin. Therefore we write a 5-6 page guide titled something like “25 Quick Tips For Beautiful Skin”.
And to get the majority of those tips we just have to go through our list of keyphrases and find search terms that could also be tips. For example, one keyphrase is “jojoba oil for skin”. We research why jojoba oil is good for skin and how it works and then we put it as one of our tips.
Easy.
We also need to create a compelling paragraph that encourages readers of our articles to enter their email address to download this 25 Tips report. Something like…
“If you’ve enjoyed this article and would love to discover my top 25 tips for beautiful, radiant, younger looking skin, then enter your email address below and press Submit. Your free report will be emailed to you instantly.”
This paragraph can be pasted, along with our opt-in form, at the end of each article we write and publish.
Step #4
Let’s Get Posting
Go back to your list of keyphrases and pick one that you’d like to write an article about. For this example we’ll use the keyphrase “castor oil for skin”. It gets 1,300 searches per month – 40+ per day.
Write a 400-600 word article all about the benefits of castor oil for skin, how to use it and where to buy it etc. Make it the best article it can possibly be.
Log-in to your WordPress dashboard and make a new post. Paste the article in and paste your “opt-in paragraph” with your form at the end.
Make sure you insert the main keyphrase “castor oil for skin” and one or two more relevant keyphrases in your Title Tag field when you make a new post.
I’d go with something like:
Castor Oil For Skin | Benefits Of Castor Oil For Skin
The latter keyphrase gets 140 searches per month and would be a nice little bonus if you could rank for that phrase, too.
Publish your post and then move to step five.
Step #5
Promotion
Our main aim is to rank number one for our main keyphrase for each post. So if we make a post about “castor oil for skin” then we want to rank number one for that keyphrase.
If we can achieve that, then we can expect to achieve about 50% of the total search traffic. That means we would be getting 650 visitors per month to that page. Plus we’ll rank for other related keywords as well which we never would expect anyone to type into Google.
In order to get to the top of Google we need to get backlinks.
Backlinks are pretty much the key to getting to the top. If you can have a large number of high quality, relevant backlinks then you will shoot to the top of the search engines.
So how can we get these backlinks?
Firstly, and most importantly, we should guest post on related, popular blogs. Write a 400 word, quality post that includes the words “castor oil for skin” somewhere within the article. Hyperlink those keywords and link it back to your castor oil for skin blog post. Contact a blogger and see if they will publish your article. Repeat with as many blogs as you can until you hit the top of the search engines. Note: bloggers will usually only take unique content so you will need to write a new article for each blogger.
There are a couple of blogs I guest post on that send me 200+ visitors within 24 hours of publishing my content. That’s a nice instant traffic boost and a chunk of that traffic will join my email list.
Secondly, another great way to get backlinks is with article marketing. Write a few articles and submit them to EzineArticles.com again with the anchor text “castor oil for skin” hyperlinked. Not only will you get a backlink from EzineArticles.com but other bloggers and website owners will publish your article with your backlink.
You may also want to try a few variations of the anchor text so Google sees a bit of variety.
Note: If you want a proven blueprint that you can follow to reach the top of the search engines then pick up a copy of Peter Garety’s Strategic Link Building Plan.
Step #6
Rinse and Repeat
I suggest you make a new post to the blog every two or three days. So make a post on day one and then spend the rest of day one and day two promoting the hell out of it.
Then on day three make a new post about “jojoba oil for skin” and spend the rest of the day and the next day promoting it.
And continue with this pattern.
After a few weeks assess how each of your main keywords are ranking in Google (I’ll show you how to do this in the ‘Tools I Use’ section). If you have one ranking just a few places shy of position one then do a little more promotion for it to bump it up a few places. It will make a huge difference.
Continue posting new content, continue promoting your existing content and your traffic will grow and grow and grow as each of your pages rises up the search engines.
And as your traffic grows so will the number of opt-ins you get.
Believe me when I say that you could easily get 5,000 visitors per day. Well, perhaps not easy. It will take some work – but it will happen.
If you publish good content, targeting good keywords and promote it well, you will get there. Not within a week, not within a month, perhaps not even within a year. But you will get there.
Let’s say for example you make 100 posts targeting 100 different keyphrases each with an average monthly search volume of 1,000 each. That’s 100,000 monthly searches that you can try to capture. And that doesn’t include your secondary and tertiary keywords and keywords that you would never imagine are searched for. And it doesn’t include traffic from article marketing and guest posts – of which there will be a lot. And from bloggers and forum posters sharing links to your content (which also happens a surprising amount). And from Twitter and Facebook shares.
If you can get to 5,000 visitors per day and you convert just 10% into subscribers then that is a cool, cash generating 500 new subscribers per day.
Don’t let these numbers freak you out. It may seem a long way off but take it one article at a time and you’ll start seeing fantastic results.
And here are a few bonus tips to help you increase your traffic, revenue and subscribers.
Bonus Tips
Share Buttons
Include Facebook share, Twitter Tweet and Stumbleupon Like buttons at the end of each of your posts. If your content is good then people will click those sharing buttons giving you a nice little traffic boost.
On my health blog Facebook.com is one of the most common referring sites. If enough people are reading your content, you’ll eventually get a few people clicking the Facebook share button.
To see an example of social sharing buttons, take a look at the end of this post on my health blog. Note: I’m currently going through a site redesign so there may be a few things out of place.
10 Natural Tips For Beautiful Skin
Amazon Marketing
If your content site is getting thousands of visitors per day, it would be silly not to monetize that content directly. Promoting Amazon products is the best way to do that.
Let’s say you write an article about Shea Butter for skin. Within that article why not link to a tub of Shea Butter on Amazon? A percentage will buy it and others will click your link, get cookied with your affiliate code and end up buying something else – sometimes something much more expensive!
More Opt-In Forms
So far I’ve just mentioned that you should have an opt-in form at the end of each of your posts, but we can maximise the number of visitors we turn into subscribers by adding more opt-in forms. Here are a few ideas.
Firstly, include an opt-in form at the top of the sidebar of your website (like on this website). This will be seen above the fold for all website visitors and will convert a small percentage into subscribers instantly.
Secondly, within your content you can link directly to your opt-in form. So when they click the link they are taken to a page showing only your form. This is useful if you are talking about something and then say:
“This idea is mentioned in more detail, along with 24 other fantastic skin care tips in this fantastic free report. Click here to download the report.”
And then you link that to your opt-in form.
Thirdly, you can create a pop-over web form in Aweber to appear on top of all of your content when a visitor visits your website. This is hugely effective but highly annoying and may minimize the chance of other bloggers, forum posters and social network users sharing your content. I’m not sure how Google feels about it, too.
Additional Traffic
Aside from search engine traffic, there are lots more ways to generate visitors and subscribers to your website. Here are just a few.
Blog commenting: Visit related blogs in your market and comment on posts with insightful, thoughtful comments with a link back to one of your posts.
Forum posting: Getting involved on forums is a great way to get traffic. I never used to bother, but one day a reader of my blog read one of my articles and shared it on a forum. Within 24 hours that forum sent me over 120 visitors. Imagine what long term posting could generate!
Yahoo Answers: This one isn’t so effective now as I believe you have to move up a few levels to be able to post clickable links, but still answering questions on YA and linking to relevant content on your site can generate a handful of visitors.
Tools I Use
I don’t use many tools to be honest. Apart from the obvious: hosting (Bluehost), an autoresponder (Aweber) and WordPress, the only tool I use is Market Samurai.
The main reason I use Market Samurai is because you can add all the keywords you are trying to rank for and it will tell you what position you rank in. It’s great for having all your keyphrases in one place and it’s a lot of fun to update every day and see how they have moved.
You can get Market Samurai here, and I will be credited with an affiliate commission if you decide to buy. Just thought I’d let you know
Let’s Sum Up
In this rather long (approaching 3,000 words now) blog post, I’ve shared a strategy you can use to reach 500 subscribers per day. It’s not a quick strategy, but it’s one that works.
The numbers may seem farfetched now, but they won’t be once you get the momentum of this thing going.
And this will work in any big market. It’s just a case of finding those keywords and ranking for them.
I hope you’ve found value in this post.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared some great content. But by the same token I haven’t sent any promotional emails either.
I hope to share more and more good stuff over the next days, weeks and months. If there’s anything you want me to talk about then leave a comment below and I’ll try and cover it in the future.
In the meantime, if you liked this post then please share it on Facebook and Twitter. The buttons are below. I’d really appreciate it.
And if you want some more fantastic strategies (10 of them to be exact) to start adding hundreds of new subscribers to your niche email lists, then please download a copy of my best selling report 100 Subscribers Per Day.
I’m off to bed now.
I’ll be in touch again soon.
Thanks,

Two things before I begin. One good, one bad.
1. The bad news is my Gmail account was hacked this morning and a spam message was sent to everyone of my contacts. If you received a message from me I apologize profusely. I’m so sorry, but I’ve fixed the problem now and it should never happen again.
2. The good news is I’ve finally finished my last ever exam. University is over and education is over FOREVER. It feels good.
Right then, onto the meat of today’s post…
A few days ago I shared a strategy I’m currently using to add about 10 new subscribers per day (and growing) to a highly specific niche email list by blogging.
This is happening completely passively and will continue to grow at a faster and faster rate.
You can read that blog post by clicking the link below.
How I Added 212 Subscribers In 33 Days Completely Passively
Today, I want to share a strategy I’m using, and will use more and more effectively, over the next few weeks, months and years to begin adding HUNDREDS of new subscribers every single day completely passively.
That method is…
BLOGGING.
Let me explain…
As I revealed in my last post, I own a natural health blog. At the moment, I’m getting about 300-400 unique visitors per day with very, very little effort.
I also revealed how I’ve added an opt-in form to the bottom of just a couple of the blog posts and it’s converting 6.1%.
If I had an opt-in form at the bottom of each post, then from my current traffic of 400 – I’d be generating close to 25 subscribers per day.
Plus, I also have an opt-in form at the top right of each page which collects another small percentage of traffic.
On top of that, within certain blog posts I plan to link to squeeze pages which offer a free report in exchange for an email address and at the top I have a link called “Free Newsletter” which again converts a small percentage of blog readers.
In the next few weeks I’ll be having a blog redesign which will increase the focus on the sidebar opt-in form to increase conversions.
With the changes I plan to make, I expect 10% of all blog traffic will become subscribers.
With my current traffic that would be 40 new subscribers per day, 1,200 per month and nearly 15,000 per year.
Plus, I expect to be averaging 1,000 visitors per day within a month.
Anyway, let me share why I think you should start a blog TODAY to start building a huge email list…
Blogs grow exponentially.
Once you have the ball rolling, it can really take off.
Think about this…
Based on a few assumptions, let’s assume each blog post generates an average of 10 visitors from the search engines every single day and we publish one new entry per day.
And let’s also assume 10% of readers become subscribers.
That means each blog post generates one subscriber per day.
After 100 days, we would be generating 100 subscribers daily and would already have 5,050 subscribers.
Now when we post a new entry, we can send an email to all of those subscribers and, assuming a 10% click-thru rate, we have an instant 500 eyeballs on our blog clicking our affiliate links and our Adsense ads.
And because we have so many more eyeballs on the page, we’ll get more Facebook likes, more Tweets and more people bookmarking and linking to our content which in turn spreads the word, boosts our referral traffic and traffic from the search engines and increases the number of subscribers we have.
Our blog traffic will grow and grow and grow and our email lists will grow and grow and grow.
Blogs are a great way to passively generate traffic and subscribers.
Start one today!
And rather than recommending some $50-100 blogging course here, I’m actually just going to suggest you get a copy of a real life physical book from the guys behind Problogger.net
The books called “ProBlogger: Secrets For Blogging Your Way To A Six Figure Income”
It’s only $16 and was one of the best reads I’ve ever had.
And now I want to share a resource that I’m going to use to motivate me to grow my blog traffic. Feel free to steal it.
Grab a piece of paper or a new Word document and split it into two columns with the headings Traffic and Subscribers.
Under the Traffic heading place these items with a checkbox by the side. Each time you achieve a target, tick it off.
10 Visitors In A Day
25 Visitors In A Day
50 Visitors In A Day
100 Visitors In A Day
250 Visitors In A Day
500 Visitors In A Day
1000 Visitors In A Day
2000 Visitors In A Day
5000 Visitors In A Day
10000 Visitors In A Day
You can also have more specific traffic targets, like 100 Visitors In A Day From The Search Engines
Under the Subscribers heading, place these items. Each statement refers to total number of subscribers.
1 Subscriber
10 Subscribers
50 Subscribers
100 Subscribers
250 Subscribers
500 Subscribers
1000 Subscribers
2500 Subscribers
5000 Subscribers
10000 Subscribers
25000 Subscribers
50000 Subscribers
100000 Subscribers
You can also set dates by which you want to achieve each target to further motivate you.
100000 subscribers may seem a long way off right now, but once you start posting and building momentum your traffic and email list will grow exponentially.
Let me just share a little case study showing how easy this can be once you’ve established your blog.
Today, I posted a new entry to RevitaliseYourHealth.com targeting three keywords. Keyword 1 has 880 searches per month, Keyword 2 has 450 searches per month and Keyword 3 has 900 searches per month. Within five minutes of making the post, I was on page 1 for two of the keywords and page 2 for the other one.
With just a couple of backlinks and internal linking, I’m confident I’ll be in the top 2-3 positions on Google. That will mean a few hundred visitors each and every month from just those three keywords.
You know what, I’ll even share the blog post. It is…
The Top 10 Best Herbal Sedatives
And if you visit that page and like the content and you have the Stumbleupon toolbar installed, could you please give it a Thumbs Up?
This is the kind of content I think could do well on there.
Right, time to sign off. My girlfriend, Daisy, is trying to get me to watch another rom com!
As always, leave your comments and please share using the buttons below if you can.
I really appreciate it.
