Most of you will know I haven’t been in touch for a few weeks due to an onslaught of final year university exams.

Three down now with just one to go, so I’m having a little break from studying and producing this blog post instead.

In this post I’ll be sharing a strategy I’ve used to passively add new subscribers while barely lifting a finger.

It’s not added thousands of subscribers (yet) but it will continue to add hundreds of subscribers at an increasing rate for many weeks, months and years into the future.

Let’s get into it…

While I’ve not been able to get into any hard core marketing during this exam period such as recruting JV partners, producing content etc, I have been able to perform “maintenance” tasks in one of the niche markets I operate in – the health market.

For those of you who aren’t aware, I own a health blog.

I’ve had it for about 3 years but never put a great deal of effort into it. I’ve never actively built backlinks, I’ve just published a few articles to EzineArticles and sporadically published new content when I could be bothered.

About two months ago I decided to take it a bit more seriously.

I found a writer who could produce quality content for me and I researched a few keyphrases that I could get to rank well.

I’ve never focussed on picking keywords before. I just write about what I think my readers would be interested in.

Anyway, I found a few interesting keywords that related to specific oils for growing hair.

I decided there was enough search volume to warrant me commissioning my new writer to produce a 1,000 word article which shared the top 10 of those oils with a brief overview of each specific oil.

I also hired her to produce a 400-500 word article for each specific hair growth oil.

The total cost was $120.

From the main “Top 10″ article I would link to each specific article and from each specific article I would link back to the “Top 10″ article.

I’m no SEO genius, but I assumed that would help with increasing my ranking.

Anyway, I published the “Top 10″ article on April 6th and finished publishing each specific article by April 13th.

In fact, let me share the articles with you… (How many marketers do that?)

After a few days I started to notice some considerable traffic arriving from the search engines for some of the keywords I was targeting. (I’ve got a screenshot in a minute.)

On April 13th (the day all of the articles were published) I received 136 pageviews in 24 hours for those 11 articles and that rose to 402 page views in a 24 hour period on the 19th.

That was the peak, but I’m still getting approximately 180-200 unique pageviews for those articles every single day.

I’ve made a couple of new “Hair Growth” posts that aren’t linked from the main article, but have included in the number of pageviews.

Once I noticed the significant traffic I was getting I wanted a better way to monetize the content aside from Amazon affiliate links.

So I decided to build a list…

I set up a new list in my Aweber account, created a super simple webform encouraging visitors to enter their email address for updates and placed it at the bottom of each of the articles. It took about 20 minutes.

That was 33 days ago now, and while the number of subscribers hasn’t been flooding in – I am experiencing a constant trickle that all adds up.

And it will continue to grow as my traffic increases (which it will do) and as I optimize the opt-in form and make it more prominent on the page.

My Aweber account suggests that my webform has been displayed 4,832 times and that I have a sign up rate of 6.1%.

That gives me a total of 295 subscribers, but because a proportion haven’t confirmed their email address I actually have 212 subscribers in my Aweber account.

That’s 212 subscribers completely passively in just over a month. And that’s going to happen every month. In fact it’s going to increase every month.

It will increase because I will…

1. Actively generate new backlinks. (Using John Rhodes’ Iron Fist Backlinks)

2. Pubish new articles to do with hair growth, hair loss and hair care. Here’s an example of one I’ve already added that wasn’t included in the Top 10:

3. Tweak and optimize the opt-in form to raise the current 6.1% opt-in rate.

I identified 30 target keywords to try and hit number one in Google with this hair growth series. I’m currently only on top spot for one of the keywords.

Most are hovering around 6/7 position and a fair few are yet to reach page one.

Just imagine how much traffic and how many subscribers I can generate with a few boosts in search engine ranking.

This might seem like a lot of effort. After all, you could just create a 100 word squeeze page, upload it and convert 50% of visitors rather than 6.1% – but you’ll NEVER be able to get the amount of passive, free traffic from the search engines as this strategy produces.

When most people start building email lists they set up a squeeze page and drive traffic to that page with article marketing, ad swaps, solo ads and other traffic generation strategies.

There’s just one downside to this method…

The search engines won’t send you any traffic. Well, no significant traffic anyway.

Google wants to provide the most relevant, useful content to its users – and it’s likely that your squeeze page isn’t the most useful result.

To get traffic from Google you need lots of content that gets traffic from a number of long tail keyphrases.

And the best way to do this is with a blog.

With every new blog post you make, you can be targeting a different long tail keyword. For example, let’s say you have a blog about hair loss and hair growth.

Using your favourite keyword tool (I use the Google Keyword Tool) you need to delve deep into keyword research.

I start by searching “hair growth” and notice that “hair growth oil” gets 40,500 monthly searches. It would be hard to rank highly for such a competitive keyword, so I delve deeper…

Then I narrow down my search to “hair growth oil” and Google gives me these results. I’ll list the keyword and then the searches.

wild growth hair oil > 4,400
coconut oil for hair growth > 3,600
castor oil for hair growth > 6,600
olive oil hair growth > 2,900
amla oil hair growth > 720
rosemary oil hair growth > 720
almond oil for hair growth > 880

and many, many more…

And then I expect you could break that down even further and get even longer tail keywords.

You could make one blog post targeting each of those keywords. I’m not saying you’ll be number one in the rankings, but you have a much better chance.

And if you did this for hundreds and hundreds of keywords you could be plucking thousands of visitors every single day from the search engines completely passively.

And you can get them onto your email list by having an opt-in form at the end of your post, on the sidebar or as a popover – and you could even have links to your squeeze page in the content. If your content is good and you have a good freebie to give away then lots of your blog visitors will subscribe.

This is a great way to passively add new subscribers and can be hugely powerful when used in conjunction with a good squeeze page and the more “regular” list building strategies.

Now comes the point where I should recommend a good blog building course for $97 and earn myself some nice commissions.

But instead, my recommendation is a $15 physical book. It’s called ProBlogger: Secrets For Blogging Your Way To A Six Figure Income.

I read it late last year and it’s a complete guide to building and profiting from a successful blog.

I talk a lot about building big email lists (such as in 100 Subscribers Per Day), but not so much about developing rock solid relationships with your subscribers.

Yet without getting your subscribers to like and trust you, having a big email list will be pointless.

I’d almost go as fas as to say that your RELATIONSHIP with your subscribers is more important than the SIZE of your email list. And that’s coming from someone who teaches list BUILDING!

Adopt these five tips that I regulary use to increase the bond I have with my subscribers, and to increase the chance that each subcriber will buy something from me in the future.

1. Have a “welcoming” welcome email

Your welcome email is the first message your new subscriber will receive from you, and it will set the tone for the rest of your relationship.

My opening message usually includes a brief introduction about me as a person and my business and then I encourage my new subscriber to email me back introducing themselves to me.

Often I prepare a short five or six question questionnaire for my new subscribers to fill out. Their answers provide me with valuable market research (such as, “What would you most like to learn about?”) and also shows my subscribers that I’m interested in THEM.

2. Peronally interact with your subscribers

Everytime I send out an email, I encourage my subscribers to hit the “Reply” button if they have any questions or want any help.

I regularly get emails from my subcribers as a result of this and I personally reply to 95% of those messages.

When I reply, the subscriber on the other end of the email sees that I’m a real human being interested in them – and not some marketing guy interested in increasing my bottom line.

Some of my subscribers reply to almost every email I send and I reply back to them. For a handful of subscribers I could recite their life story – and when I do a promotion, I almost always see their name in my order reports.

3. Provide TOP QUALITY content

This goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway. The BEST way to get people to keep opening your emails, is to provide good content.

Things such as articles, reports, audios, videos, interviews etc. And it doesn’t always have to be from you.

If there’s an expert in your market who’s written a really good article, or created a really good product then share it with your subscribers. They’ll thank you for it.

4. You don’t ALWAYS have to make money from an email

When I first started building an email list, I believed that every single email I sent out had to make money. It doesn’t.

For example, I’d write a quality article, share it with my subscribers, but within the article I’d plug a bunch of affiliate links to relevant products. And then at the end I’d put another affiliate link.

It would have looked to my subscribers as if the primary reason I was sharing this content was because I wanted to make money. Whereas if I’d left those affiliate links out, it would have loked like I merely wanted to share some good content and HELP them.

And if your subscribers see you to be helping them, then that’s what ultimately builds your rock solid relationship.

5. Be interesting and different

I, even now, fall into the trap of writing articles and reports as if I was writing for a text book. While I often use real life examples and case studies, I rarely inject my personality into my content.

Even in this post here I’ve written as if I’m writing for a textbook.

There’s a couple of marketers who’s emails and blog posts I read regularly primarily because they manage to inject their personality and humour into their content.

For example, Dan Thompson. I read Dan’s emails every time I get one because I know it’s going to be an interesting read. I know that even if the content isn’t going to make massive improvements to my business, it’s going to give me a good laugh.

I had a bit of a crazy weekend this week, and it was almost completely out of the blue.

Most of you will know I launched my new product 100 Subscribers Per Day this week – on Tuesday I think it was?

Unlike most marketers I didn’t have a big pre-launch and make 10 gajillion sales in the first 11 seconds.

All I did was email my subscribers letting them know I had a new product for sale and email my existing affiliates letting them know that I have a new product and they can promote it.

That’s all I’ve done so far in terms of promotion. And that’s why I’ve only generated about 80 sales so far (via this channel anyway).

I would have spent some time personally emailing some top marketers in the marketplace, but I’ve got an essay deadline for tomorrow (Monday) so I’ve had to focus on that instead.

I just finished that off so I have some free time to get this email out to you.

I now have a whole week off to dedicate to getting some crazy sales figures by getting in touch with other marketers – and I fully expect to reach 1,000 total sales by the end of the month in just 10 days!

But now I want to reveal a powerful strategy I used to generate 443 (and counting) sales of 100 Subscribers Per Day in the past five days (90% has come in the past 36 hours).

Here’s proof:

I generated these sales using Strategy #10 as revealed in 100 Subscribers Per Day, but I’ll explain it here too for those of you who haven’t purchased 100 SPD.

The strategy involves using Warrior Special Offers – or WSOs.

A WSO is a section of the Warrior Forum where members can pay to post a thread selling their product at a special discount to members.

It costs $40 to post a thread, but you have to be a member first which also costs $37.

Optionally, you can use a feature called WSO Pro to run your WSO which handles the entire sales and delivery process, plus more importantly allows affiliates to promote your offer. A WSO Pro license costs $19 – therefore my total costs for running my WSO was $59 since I was already a member.

I priced the report at $5 and rising by $0.05 with every sale with a maximum price of $9.95 (you can set this with WSO Pro).

I set the commission level to 100% so that if any affiliates wanted to promote the thread then they could do and earn a 100% commission.

I posted the thread, paid the $40 and not much happened.

I sold about $180 worth of product in the first 2 days.

Then on Thursday something exciting happened.

A pretty big affiliate decided to do a promotion for my product and generated about 50 sales.

That created a bit of buzz on my thread as happy customers flocked to share their positive comments.

Then another affiliate picked up on the buzz and did a promotion generating another 20 or so sales.

I decided to leverage this momentum and contacted the owner of WSO Pro – Mike Lantz. He runs a feature where he chooses a “WSO Of The Day” and then mails his audience with that WSO.

I decided to send him a cheeky email to see if I could become WSO of the day.

Of course WSO of the day is not all about statistics and earnings – this is, in my own biased opinion, a fantastic product – and the reviews in the forum so far have suggested so.

I didn’t ever expect to become WSO of the Day but I thought there was no harm in trying.

I woke up on Saturday morning and opened my emails. I always scroll down my emails to the last new message I’ve received (it’s more exciting that way!).

I noticed that on this occassion I had to scroll a long, long way further than normal.

And then I saw the reason…

That email had only been delivered two hours earlier, but already I’d had over 50 new sales.

Every two or three minutes I’d get a notification of a new subscriber – and these were subscribers that had purchased my product and then joined the customers only email list. These subscribers are GOLD DUST.

The sales continued to roll in too, and more affiliates promoted. Just last night a new affiliate generated about 50 new sales.

And as I write this post a new affiliate has promoted and generated 6 sales so far.

Here’s the commissions I’ve made just from a simple link on my download page.

Here’s a few little tips that you can take away to have a super successful WSO.

1. Create a QUALITY product and completely undercharge. Take a look at my thread and look at the comments. Every single one is praising how good the product is. That gives me massive momentum as each positive comment convinces more viewers to buy.

2. Use WSO Pro to run your WSO. It’s the only way you can pay commissions and that’s how I’ve generated 95% of my sales and subscribers. Plus, don’t be stingy with your commissions. If I hadn’t paid 100% commissions, I don’t think anyone would have promoted.

3. Be pro-active. I could have sat around and hoped my WSO would hit WSO of the day, but I didn’t. I got in touch with Mike Lantz, I made him aware of my WSO and I got my rewards. This doesn’t just apply to WSOs. If you have a product and an affiliate program, don’t wait for people to find it. Go out and find THEM.

It’s been a while since I’ve published to the blog, or been in touch with my subscribers in fact. I’ll reveal why at the end of this blog post, so make sure you read this entire post because I have something very important to share.

But first, I want to share with you a unique tactic that you rarely see discussed that has generated  7,371 new unique visitors over the past four and a bit years.

Now I know those aren’t crazy numbers, but it took only five minutes to do, it’s completely free and I haven’t touched it since.

It consistently brings me 3-4 unique visitors per day and therefore 1-2 new subscribers. That’s around 500 subscribers per year and 2,500 in total.

Would you swap five minutes for 2,500 subscribers?

Here’s how I did it…

This method simply involves submitting a free eBook to free eBook directories, in this case e-library.net

You can see a screenshot of my submission below and how many visits it’s generated to my squeeze page – 7,371!

And that’s from ONE ebook directory.

If you go to Google and type in “free ebook directory” there are hundreds more results.

Why not spend an hour or so submitting your free eBooks. Or pay someone to do it for you.

Some require you to use a direct link (i.e. no squeeze page). If so, put a direct link to a download page but have an opt-in form below. Instruct your visitors that they can receive a bonus report if they enter their name and email address.

Whether or not the subscribers you get from this method of list building are subscribers that buy things or are just freebie seekers I don’t know – but getting 2,500 subscribers for free and for five minutes work is not something to be sniffed at!

Give it a go and then let me know how you do – but don’t expect an instant traffic surge.

This is more of a long term strategy.

I said at the start of this blog post that I’d explain why I haven’t been in touch for a while and the reason is simple. Actually there are two reasons.

Firstly, it was my 21st Birthday on the 9th. I celebrated the day at university but then went home on the weekend to celebrate with family. That’s taken up most of this week.

When I was writing my product Accelerated List Building I thought it would be useful to run a little experiment to prove that the methods actually work.

I hired a guy from The Warrior Forum to write 8 articles for me on getting a flat stomach. I paid no attention to keywords just suggested subjects that I believed would have mass appeal for the people of that market.

I paid $40 for the articles and submitted them all in one batch to EzineArticles.com

This was in April 2009.

I was just browsing through my EZA account when I found this little experiment so I thought I’d share the results with you.

Those eight articles have resulted in a total of 621 clicks to my squeeze page. and given my 45%ish conversion rate and allowing for non-confirmers, I estimate that those eight articles costing just $40 and taking 10 minutes to submit, have generated me around 300 new subscribers.

Below is a screenshot so you can see a breakdown of the article views and clicks. (Ignore the total article views as that includes articles that weren’t included in this experiment.)

From this experiment I can see that one article produces an average of just under 50 subscribers and each article cost $5 which means that with article marketing on EzineArticles.com I’m paying $0.10 for a subscriber.

Plus, if you consider that those articles will continue to generate traffic for as long as EZA is running, the cost per subscriber is continually going to fall.

And, if you also consider the effect a link back from EZA has on SE rankings you can lower the cost per subscriber even further.

And then if you consider on top of that that you can submit those same articles to other article directories you will be getting even more traffic which again further lowers your cost per subscriber.

Anyone could go away right now, set up a squeeze page (if you don’t have one), set up a money making auto-responder sequence, and then write (or hire some else to write) a bunch of articles, submit them to EZA and then see how many subscribers you get as a result of that.

If it’s profitable, do it again and do it on a bigger scale.

If it’s not, then tweak each aspect (EZA click-thru rate, conversion rate, confirmation rate, turning subscribers into buyer conversion etc etc.) and try it again.

Right, let’s go…

Many suggest that each subscriber produces $1 in revenue each month. I’ve had lists where the average subscriber value has been $3-4 per month – and then I’ve had lists where the average value is $0.10 per month.

It all depends on the way in which you build your list – and even more importantly – the way in which you treat them.

This article will reveal 4 ways you can add an extra 100 subscribers to your list this week. That’s 400 new subscribers in 7 days.

1. Guest Posting

Finding some of the top blogs in your market and asking them if they’d like you to produce a blog post for them is a brilliant way to get a fast influx of new, quality subscribers. Plus, it’s a strategy that will continue to generate new subscribers for months and years to come.

When you guest post on another blog, you are usually allowed to include a resource box with a link back to your website. If you write unique, interesting content then many people will visit your website and subscribe to your list.

I don’t know what market you’re in, but I expect there are hundreds of blogs that you could potentially contribute to. Just one or two successful guest posts could result in 100 new subscribers to your email list this week.

2. Adswaps

If you have an existing list, this is the fastest, cheapest way to build your list fast.

During an adswap, you essentially get to “borrow” another person’s list for one mailing – and they get to do the same with yours. The aim is to convert as many of their subscribers into your subscribers.

The bigger your list, the bigger the size of the list you can swap with – and the quicker you can grow your list.

An adswap day is a fun day. One swap I did once produced 450 new confirmed subscribers in the first 24 hours. It’s exciting to see the new subscriber and sale notifications coming in.

3. Solo ads

These are similar to adswaps, but instead of a reciprocal mailing, you pay for one email to another marketers’ subscribers.

The problem with ad swaps is that your subscribers can get tired of them. And then they become unresponsive, and then you don’t make any money from them.

You can do an unlimited number of solo ads without upsetting your subscribers – as long as you have the funds, of course.

To find solo ad partners, you can simply email each list owner you know of in your niche and ask for their prices. Make sure to also find out their list size and their typical click-thru rate.

4. Hold an Affiliate Competition

If you have your own product, then hold a one week affiliate competition.

Notify your existing affiliates (and recruit some new ones) that you will be offering some cool prizes for every affiliate who makes xx sales.

For example:

- Every affiliate who makes 10 sales gets a cool $100 bonus direct to their Paypal account

I’ve prepared this special report in a matter of hours because I want to provide you with some incredible content and a fantastic strategy that you can start using immediately to get a lot more subscribers – and not just ordinary subscribers, but the best type… the type that BUY things.

If you’ve been marketing, or even just reading about marketing, then you’ll have had it drummed into you that not all subscribers are made equal. Subscribers who purchase products in your market are the best type of leads. That’s why this strategy focuses on getting these prospects onto our list so we can develop a solid relationship with them and get them to like, know and trust you so that they purchase your products or products that you recommend.

Essentially, what we’ll be doing is offering a low priced product of yours as a bonus to your competitor’s products and collecting the names and email addresses of everyone who downloads your product.

I’ll go through this strategy in a step-by-step way, just like I always do…

Step 1
Having Your Lead Generation Product

You need to have your own low priced offer selling for $10+ for this strategy. The product may be a short 15-20 page report or a one hour audio or video. Your product needs to deliver extreme value – that’s the most important point.

Your product will be the first point of contact for your subscribers and you need to make a great first impression. Deliver extreme value and that will go a long way to developing your future relationship and getting them to buy from you.

Having people email you and ASK to purchase your premium products is a fantastic scenario. And the reason I have people email me and ask to purchase my premium products is because I provide incredible value at the first point of contact in my business.

You need to make sure your lead generation product delivers massive value.

It will only take a few hours to create your product. If you’re comfortable speaking or being in front of a camera then create an audio or video product, if you’re not then a content packed 15-20 page report will suffice.

You then need to create a salespage selling your product. But don’t panic! It can be an awful sales page and this strategy will still be effective because we don’t actually intend to sell any of these products.

Product created, sales letter created… let’s move on.

Step 2
Setting Up Your Site For Success

You need to set your site up in a certain way to maximise the potential of this system.

Ideally you would like the salespage to have a coupon box where visitors can enter a coupon and get your product for free. When they enter that coupon they get taken to a page where they enter their name and email address and are added to your list. They then get taken to a one time offer while your autoresponder delivers your product.

You also want to have affiliate tracking set up so that when someone sends a visitor to your site they get credited with the sale for the one time offer. It just makes it a little more likely that they will send traffic to your offer.

Rapid Action Profits is capable of doing all of this.

It enables you to set up a coupon and to pay affiliates commissions instantly and automatically on your one time offer. Affiliates love instant commissions.

For this strategy I usually offer 100% commissions. I’m not worried about immediate profit; I’d rather get more proven buyers into my sales funnel and start selling to them in my follow-up sequence.

Step 3
Finding Competitors
(Future Partners!)

Now you need to go out and find as many people in your market selling products related to yours. There’s a ton of ways to do this. I’ll give you a few ideas for starters.

  1. Go to Clickbank.com and Paydotcom.com and browse through all the products in your market.
  2. Go to Google and type searches such as “your keyword ebook” or “order safely through paypal your keyword”
  3. Go to info product directories such as rapbank.com. This website has over 500 info products currently for sale in a range of different markets.
  4. Go to forums in your marketplace and ask what info products people have purchased.

Depending on the size of your market you should be able to find a fair number of competing info products – potentially more than 100.

Step 4
Contacting Competitors

Like I’ve already said, the aim of this strategy is to get your competitors to offer your products as a bonus to their paid products. If your product is good and you offer 100% commission on your one time offer, then often your competitor will kindly oblige.

They benefit by adding greater value to their customers and completely over delivering and they also profit at the same time from people purchasing your one time offer. You benefit by getting free, qualified traffic entering your sales funnel. It’s a win-win situation.

I recommend that for each competitor you contact you should create a coupon code specifically for them. Make the coupon code relevant to them or their product. If their name is Bob Smith, then make “bobsmith” your coupon code. That shows a certain amount of personalisation that will vastly increase your chances of collaborating with them.

Here’s a sample email that you can copy or model your own emails on:

Hi FIRSTNAME,

My name’s YOUR FIRST NAME. I just came across your product at YOURWEBSITE.COM and would like to offer you the chance to increase your conversions, deliver extra value to your customers, and generate some commissions as well.

I have a product called MY PRODUCT TITLE and I sell copies every day at $10. You can see me selling it at MYWEBSITE.COM.

I’d like to offer you the chance to offer it to your customers as a bonus to your product.

If you mention that you’re providing MY PRODUCT TITLE on your salespage then it will greatly increase your conversions. If you don’t mention it and provide it as an unannounced bonus then you’ll create a fantastic relationship with your customers.

What’s better is that you can earn 100% commissions for everyone you send who also purchases my one time offer. The offer converts at x% and costs $xx.

I’ve already set you up so that you can start sending your customers. Simply send your customers through the link below (just replace with your Paypal email address) and explain to them to enter the coupon code “bobsmith” and press “Buy Now”.

I know your customers will love it and I’m sure you’ll appreciate the extra revenue from sales of the one time offer.

Simply email as many of your competitors as you possibly can. A lot of them will go for it.

This is a fantastic strategy that costs zero to implement.

Step 5
Growing Your List RAPIDLY

Okay, I know the purpose of this report was to get proven buyers into your funnel, but having great volume of subscribers is also good.

So, as well as offering your product as a bonus to paid products, why not offer it as a bonus when someone simply subscribes to someone else’s list? It’s the same situation; all your competitor has to do is provide a link on their thank you page. They profit from OTO sales and you build a massive list – plus there are thousands of people building lists out there and you can leverage all of their hard work and STEAL their subscribers.

Okay, here’s one more thing that’s capable of building you a massive list.

In many niches marketers run membership sites. Some of these membership sites can have 10,000+ members and their owners are constantly trying to provide new, valuable content. That’s where you come in.

Offer your product for free to all members. Get in touch with the membership site owner and present your offer. Use a similar structure to the email I’ve previously outlined.

Many membership site owners will quickly blast your offer to their members and you can get a quick flood of new subscribers in just a few days. And these are fantastic subscribers that have already proven to spend money in your market.They are like gold dust.

It’s not often you’ll hear someone who teaches marketing state that making money online is EASY.

Normally they want to sell you some complicated training course that costs four figures and teaches very little.

But making money online is easy. Really easy, in fact.

It might take a little while to start earning, but it will happen eventually. But only if…

You take focussed, consistent action following ONE system.

There are many ways to earn a full time income online.

  • You could set up one mini website (4-5 content pages) each week for a year with Adsense ads and get each website earning $3-5 per day. By the end of the year you could be earning $150-250 per day.
  • You could create your own product, sell it for $47 through Clickbank, pay affiliates 75% commissions (earning you $12 per sale) and sell 10-20 copies per day through affiliates earning you $120-240 per day.
  • You could focus on building a list and promoting a variety of affiliate offers to them. If you can reach a consistent 50-100 subscribers per day, then within no time you will have a full time online income.

All of the above are fantastic ways to create a full time income online and live the dream internet lifestyle.

I’ve tried and succeeded (to an extent) in all three and more – but in 2011 I’m going to focus on just ONE business model and with consistent, focussed action I know that creating an insane, PASSIVE income is inevitable.

I want to share with you briefly the business model I’m going to adopt and then a few steps I will take to ensure success is inevitable. I’ll even share a case study with you so you can see a working example.

If you want to make 2011 the year you achieve your online dreams but you aren’t sure what direction to take, then read this blog post and then if it’s something you feel you can do, start planning your way to success.

Here we go…

The method I’m about to reveal is something I already do that brings in a consistent, but not extraordinary, income – but the steps I’ll take in 2011 will ensure that the resulting income from this business model will grow, grow and continue to grow.

Here’s the business model in a nutshell.

1. Sell a report, video or audio for $7-20

2. Pay 100% commissions to affiliates and JV partners

3. Automatically add buyers to your email list.

4. Profit from one time offers and future offers to your list of buyers.

I won’t go into massive detail about how to set this all up as I did so in my last blog post here.

Have a read of that post if you aren’t familiar with this business model and then come back here to see ways that you can optimize the entire process to turn this into a six figure sales machine.

Essentially, you sell a quality product at a minimal price, offer affiliates 100% of all front end sales and then recruit as many affiliates as possible to sell the product for you. They’re happy because they earn the full sale price and you’re happy because you get a quality lead who will buy future products from you (and you keep 100% of the profits) and affiliate offers you recommend.

From experience, a list of just 1,000 subscribers who have joined your list because they’ve purchased from you is an absolute goldmine. Therefore, the more people you can get on your list this way – the more money you will make.

Here’s how to optimize the entire process to get more affiliates and therefore more sales, subscribers and $$$…

1. Add a one time offer.

Affiliates promote products that can offer them the highest visitor value (amount of money they receive per visitor). If you include an instant one time offer after a person buys your front-end product and pay 50% of the OTO to affiliates, then that’s going to increase their VV and make them more inclined to promote.

If you’re really serious about getting big affiliates to promote, then you could even offer 100% commissions on the OTO. That’s what I do with Accelerated List Building.

If you want to increase your VV even further, then you could add up to three OTO’s. This can annoy some customers, but there’s no doubt it works.

2. Offer bonuses

Affiliates LOVE bonuses. I love promoting products with bonuses and I know other people do, too.

Cash bonuses work best with me, but physical prizes are also a great incentive.

Once you’ve identified how much each of your customers is worth to you, then you can assess the value of the prizes you can offer.

For example, if each customer has a lifetime value of $25, then you can offer cash prizes up to $25 per sale. Of course you will want some sort of margin so you could offer bonuses of $100 per 10 sales ($10 per customer essentially).

This makes the prizes within reach even for an average affiliate and will act as a great motivator. If I’d made 8 sales of a product and knew that just two more sales would result in a $100 bonus payment – do you think I’d dedicate a little time to making sure I get those two sales? Of course I would!

3. Increase your conversions

The more you increase your conversions, the greater the VV for your affiliates and the more chance you have of recruiting them to promote for you.

Let’s imagine an affiliate sends 1,000 visitors to your $10 offer (100% commission) and there is a $25 OTO (100% commission). Let’s assume the front-end conversion is 5% and your OTO conversion is 10% and that you are also making bonus payments of $100 for every 10 sales.

Your affiliate would make:

- 50 sales of the front-end product with $500 in commissions

- 5 sales of the OTO with $125 in commissions

- $500 in bonus payments

That’s a total of $1,125 from 1,000 visitors and a VV of $1.125.

That’s a pretty good VV, but now imagine that you can increase your conversions from 5% to 10% on the front-end (I’ve managed this before with a $10 product) and and 20% on the OTO (I’ve managed over 50% before on the OTO so this is easily doable).

Now your affiliate would make:

- 100 sales of the front-end with $1,000 in commissions

- 20 sales of the OTO with $500 in commissions

- $1,000 in bonus payments

That’s a total of $2,500 from 1,000 visitors and a VV of $2.50.

Affiliates will be going crazy promoting your product for you if you can offer this kind of visitor value.

Here’s a few quick things you can implement to increase your conversions without having any copywriting skills:

- Add proof to your claims – e.g. before and after photos if you are selling a weight loss product.

- Add testimonials from previous customers – e.g. “I followed your weight loss plan and lost 7lbs in 14 days…

- Add more bonuses to increase real and perceived value

By the way, all the numbers I’ve used as examples are completely achievable – and you can actually do even better than that.

Getting high powered affiliates is all (well, nearly all) about offering a massive visitor value. If you can do that then you’re 95% of the way there.

Chris Rempel (one of the most respected guys online for providing top content) has a report dedicated entirely to increasing your visitor value.

Here it is…

About two months ago Lee McIntyre released a product called Instant Internet Lifestyle for $19.95.

It’s a fantastic, in depth training course that should really have been priced at $197 or more. But Lee understands the power of getting buying leads into his funnel.

So he offered 100% commissions to affiliates for all sales they generate. Not only that but he has a number of one time offers in place to further add to the visitor value for affiliates. He is also paying commissions on all products that a customer purchases through him in the future. Not only that, but Lee is paying $400 bonuses for every 20 sales an affiliate makes.

Here’s a rough breakdown of how much I’ve made promoting this offer. I can’t give exact figures as I’m not 100% certain of which future sales have been as a result of this promotion or past one’s.

Total visitors sent: 620
Total sales of Instant Internet Lifestyle at $19.95: 30 = $600
Total OTO and future sales: Approx $350
Total bonus payments: $400 (and only 10 sales away from another $400)

Total visitor value for me = $2.20

That’s a pretty incredible visitor value and this will only increase when I get the next $400 bonus payment.

I don’t know exactly how many copies of Instant Internet Lifestyle Lee has sold – but I do know he launched it from a balcony while on vacation in NYC.

He thought it would only be a small launch and only notified a few affiliates about it. It exploded virally and Lee had to return from his vacation early as his support desk was overflowing with queries.

I think the last I heard was that he’d made over 2,000 sales but that was a while ago now so I expect it is a much higher figure than that. A list of 2,000 buying subscribers is ab absolute goldmine!

It goes to show however that: a strong, quality offer + high visitor value = the key to getting affiliates, sales and making huge profits.

I’ve written this article quickly to share with you how I’m able to build massive lists of PROVEN buyers that trust, like and WANT to buy from me and how this system can be replicated in any niche you want to.

I’m sure a lot of you understand now that having a list of subscribers is the most guaranteed way to make money online. Even better than that though: having your own list of subscribers who have previously BOUGHT something from you is a sure fire way to online wealth. (Providing your list is large enough and you treat them well, of course!)

I’ve developed my own system (I say it’s my system, but there are hundreds of others using this and to great effect, but I’ve tailored it and adapted it to work just that little bit better than average) to build massive, auto-pilot lists of PROVEN buyers with just a few hours of work per week.

It’s a fantastic system, and if you’ve been struggling to decide which route or system to follow with your business, then this might just be the one for you!

Here it is, in a step-by-step, do-this, do-that system for you to copy and follow. Plus, I’ll use one of my real life examples. (In fact, this example is probably the reason you are one of my subscribers!)

Step #1
Develop Your Front End Product

The first thing we want to be doing is selling a low priced, high value front end product for between $7-15. These products are great because you can deliver extreme value at a very low price to your customers. This will make them love you and want to buy from you in the future.

Your product can be a special report about 15-20 pages long, or an audio or a video about an hour long. In truth, the length doesn’t matter, as long as you deliver solid, actionable content that your readers will be happy with.

The example I’m using is my product Accelerated List Building. It’s 27 pages of no fluff, do-this, do-that steps that anyone can follow to build massive subscriber lists from scratch.

Step #2
Develop Your Front End Sales Page

Not everyone’s great at copywriting. In fact, I’m not very good either. I got lucky with Accelerated List Building because I had a believable story that had actually happened to me. It hooked readers in and pulled in the sales.

If you aren’t good at copywriting, then you’ll need to hire someone good for this step. It doesn’t matter what it costs, because a high front end conversion is essential to this entire system.

Accelerated List Building sells for $10 and I was happy at first when it was converting at 4%. But then I added a few more bonuses and edited some of the copy and now it converts at 7% for cold traffic and often over 10% for joint venture endorsed traffic. For that reason, affiliates LOVE to promote my product – and we’ll get to that now.

Step #3
Develop Your Affiliate Program

Our affiliate program is what makes our list building and our income so automatic. The great thing is we get other people to do 99% of the work for us utilising the resources they’ve spent years to develop.

I’m only going to recommend one affiliate management system because it’s the only one I’ve used and probably the only one you’ll ever need to get this system working.

It’s called Rapid Action Profits and you may have heard me mention it a few times!

One of the reasons RAP is so good is because you can automatically opt your customers into your Aweber mailing list without them knowing about it, thus building your list. And that’s the main aim of this system.

Set the commissions up so that you pay 100% on all front end sales. It may sound like a lot, but with low priced products like these, it’s the only way to get affiliates that will make substantial sales. Plus, we aren’t looking for front end revenue in this model.

The next thing you’ll want to do is develop an affiliate “sales page”. This is used to persuade a potential affiliate to join your program and promote your product. It doesn’t need to be too fancy. Take a look at mine here.

State the conversion data (if you have it) and outline the exact offer.

Next you’ll want to develop some affiliate tools, especially solo emails. Broadcasts to subscribers are how most affiliates will be promoting your product, so make your emails good. If you can’t write effective ad copy, then pay someone else to do it. Put these solo emails in your affiliate centre. You can take a look at my affiliate centre by becoming an affiliate.

Step #4
Building & Profiting From Your List

Like I’ve already mentioned, we want to build a list of buyers using this system so that we can profit from them way into the future.

Using Rapid Action Profits we can set it up so that once a customer purchases the front end product, then their email address is automatically added to our Aweber list.

Set your RAP system to do this for you automatically.

Next you need to develop a follow up sequence that funnels your customers into other higher priced products. Remember: this is where the money is.

Because these subscribers have previously purchased a product from you and (hopefully) had a positive experience, then they’ll be ten times more likely to purchase products you recommend compared to an ordinary subscriber.

Step #5
Recruiting Motivated Affiliates

Because I have an affiliate program that delivers a fantastic visitor value for my affiliates, I have over 1,000 registered affiliates. 121 of these affiliates have made AT LEAST one sale. I have one affiliate who has over 500 sales (and gets 3-4 per day, every day), I have two affiliates who have over 200 sales each, and I have five affiliates who have over 100 sales each, as well as countless others who have made 10+ sales.

There is one thing more than any other that motivates affiliates: money. The more money an affiliate can earn per visitor they send, the more affiliates you will recruit. In the next step I’ll reveal how I’ve improved my affiliate program to maximise the visitor value to get top affiliates.

For this step though, here’s a few ways to FIND affiliates for your product:

  • Find people in your market with mailing lists by searching for your main keywords in Google.
  • Find people publishing articles on EzineArticles.com
  • Find fellow product owners in your market through the Clickbank.com and Paydotcom.com market places. Often a reciprocal mailing for their product will encourage them to promote your product.
  • Find bloggers in your market and ask them to write a review of your product on their blog.
  • Post on forums, such as The Warrior Forum in the JV section, asking if anyone would be interested in promoting your product.

There’s a few ways to get you started.

Step #6
Increase Your Visitor Value, Increase Your Number Of Motivated Affiliates, Increase Your Number Of Sales, Increase Your Profits

As I’ve already said – affiliates promote products that can give them the biggest visitor value. The higher we can increase our visitor value, the more affiliates we can get, and the more sales will come.

Here’s a few things I’ve done to increase my VV for Accelerated List Building:

Increase your front end sales conversion. Remember how I said that I increased my sales conversion from 4% to 7% on cold traffic? That led to a $0.40 visitor value increasing to a $0.70 visitor value. So every 100 visitors would give me an extra $30. For JV endorsed traffic the conversion rate has remained steady at around 10%.

Add a OTO. Once a customer purchases Accelerated List Building they instantly see a OTO for a $14.95 list building starter kit. Affiliates get 100% commission on the OTO too. I’ve only just added this as a OTO but I’ve sold this previously to my subscribers and got a 9% conversion. Baring in mind that conversions will be significantly greater for a OTO – I will assume a modest conversion of 20%.

Using the conversion data above, here’s what an average affiliate could earn from just 1,000 visitors.

1,000 visitors = 100 sales of Accelerated List Building = $1,000

100 sales of ALB = 20 sales of The List Building Starter Kit at 100% commission = $300

So, from just 1,000 unique visitors an average affiliate can earn over $1,300.

I could optimize this further by:

· Increasing the front end sales conversion even more
· Increasing the conversion for the OTO while also increasing the price
· Adding more up sells that affiliates can earn from.

This is such an easy business model, such an easy way to build a list, and such an easy way to create an automated income online that grows continuously.

Imagine selling 5,000 copies. Imagine how much money you could get through OTO sales. Imagine how much money you could make through your up sells. Imagine how much money you could make from doing a broadcast to 5,000 BUYING subscribers.

This is only a brief overview of the entire process.
