Traffic Generation       6 Comments »     02/28/2012

I had a really frustrating day yesterday.

I’ve been looking forward to letting you know about something very exciting for a few weeks now and yesterday was the big day – but literally EVERYTHING went wrong.

Firstly, the website was down for nearly two hours, then when it was back up the order button wasn’t working, and then when I finally sent my email out to you when everything was working again, all my emails seemed to go to spam folders.

(I think because so many people were promoting this, spam filters thought something dodgy was going on and so put all emails with the same destination URL into the “bin”.)

I wanted to let you know about Chris Munch’s new training course Hook Pigeon. Chris has been great to me over the last six months – he even surprised me and sent me this in the post last week to say thanks for all my help.

Anyway, I’ve been really excited about his new release because Hook Pigeon reveals how Chris regularly creates a piece of “hot” content in 20-30 minutes that generates 5,000-100,000 unique free visitors in its first 48 hours online.

In fact, he’s even generated 245,025 visitors to one piece of content in just 48 hours using his unique viral marketing system.

He’s worked out a unique formula for creating content that people can’t help but link to (including websites like the BBC) and that people can’t help but Tweet about and share on Facebook and other social networking sites. And it takes him just 20-30 minutes.

This sends an incredible surge of self-perpetuating traffic as the more people arrive on the site, the more people link to and share the content.

Chris will be sharing his entire viral marketing system in an intensive seven day live training event that begins on March 5th. If you want to be there you need to get access quickly.

I’ve secured my place already (and yes, I paid for it – I didn’t just ask for a review copy because I know how valuable this training will be to my business) so you may even see me on the webinars :)

At the moment, full access to this seven day training course is just $9.47 but it’s due to start rising with each sale soon. I don’t know when it will start going up, but I’ve been told that it will. It might even have gone up by the time you read this.

So if you want to discover how you can create a piece of hot content that creates a surge of targeted, high quality traffic to your website or blog, then click here to get access to Chris Munch’s Hook Pigeon Live Training Course.

Right, this blog post is not just a promo, I’ve got some fantastic content to share that ties in nicely with Hook Pigeon.

In this blog post I’m going to reveal what I do each time I publish a new blog post that guarantees I receive 500+ unique visitors in the first 48 hours of my blog post being live.

Let me first state why it’s important to be able to generate instant traffic.

Imagine a scenario whereby you pay a writer to produce your blog content at, let’s say, $15 per article. And let’s say that you generate revenue from your blog with Google Adsense and that you earn approximately $3 per 100 page views which is perfectly realistic.

If you can generate an instant 500 visitors to each new blog post, then you’ll make your $15 investment back fast and any long term traffic you generate will be pure profit.

Step #1
Notify Email Subscribers

This is my main instant traffic source. Every time I publish a new blog post on this blog or my health blog, I send out an email letting my subscribers know.

This can send me anywhere from 300-500 eyeballs in the first 48 hours and pretty much guarantees every blog post is a success (profitable).

Plus, these subscribers may have their own blogs or websites and end up linking to the post, or they may share on Twitter, Facebook, Stumbleupon or Pinterest which sends you more traffic.

It’s essential that you start collecting email addresses from your blog or website because a big and engaged list of subscribers can make each of your blog posts profitable after just a matter of hours of being live.

Take a look at this guest post I wrote for ProBlogger revealing 10 Ways To Get More Subscribers From Your Blog.

Step #2
Twitter, Facebook & Google Plus

After sending a notification to my subscribers, I then go ahead and Tweet a link to my blog post to my followers, post a link on my Facebook wall and share the post on Google Plus.

If I feel the post has a chance to go viral, I also sometimes post it to Digg and Stumbelupon.

The key to getting traffic via these sources is to build your networks and engage with them. The bigger your following and the more engaged they are, the more chance they will click your links and ReTweet and Share your content.

Something I’ve been testing recently on Twitter is this. If I write a “problem solving” article such as my recent article – 8 Magical Home Remedies For Dry Skin – then I’ll head to Twitter and start searching for phrases like “dry skin”.

This brings up recent Tweets from real life people moaning about or cursing their dry skin. I simply send a quick Tweet to them encouraging them to take a look at my article. They often do, and sometimes ReTweet, too.

Step #3
Pin It

With each post I publish to my health blog, I include one high quality image.

After publishing, I Pin this image which normally sends me 20 or so visitors within minutes. Plus, if someone RePins my image (which they normally do) I’ll get a further traffic boost.

Some days I generate 250+ visitors from Pinterest and you can find out exactly how I do it by download my free report: How I Generate 250 Visitors Per Day From Pinterest

Step #4
Mention Others In Your Posts

Here’s something I’ve been doing more recently.

In your posts, link out to other bloggers in your market. There are three reasons for doing this.

1. If you are both using WordPress then they will get a notification that you’ve linked to them which will bring your blog onto their radar. They might link to you in the future.

If they aren’t using WordPress, they still might see that you’re sending them traffic and check you out.

2. Once you’ve mentioned them in your post you can email them, let them know, and ask if they can Tweet, Like or Share your article. You’ve done a favour for them, now you’re asking for a favour from them.

3. Some blogs automatically link back to all posts that link to them. I benefited from this type of relationship recently when I wrote a post that linked back to one of the most popular blogs in the world – CopyBlogger.

When I wrote my article ‘How To Get Traffic With Pinterest’, I linked to a post I found useful from CopyBlogger.

If you go to the post on CopyBlogger and scroll to the bottom where it says “Sites that Link to this Post” you’ll see my blog right at the very top.

That little link has generated me over 200 visitors in the past 14 days. Nothing special, but every little helps.

The above four strategies generate me an almost instant 500+ visitors in just 48 hours making every single one of my blog posts profitable right away.

Imagine knowing that you could pay $15 for an article, press ‘Publish’ and make your money back instantly. Plus you would continue to earn passive income from that article for many days, weeks, months and years to come.

At the moment, I’m quite happy that I’m able to generate 500 visitors in 48 hours – but I can’t wait for Chris’s Hook Pigeon training to start.

He regularly gets 10,000+ visitors within 48 hours of publishing a blog post. I’m incredibly excited to discover his formula and I know that once I’ve learned his secrets my blog traffic – and my blog profits – will explode.

If you’d like to discover his secrets too, then make sure you get access to Hook Pigeon before the price rises.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. As always I’ve enjoyed writing it, and if you think others would benefit from this post, please Tweet, Like or Share :)

Thanks a lot.

    Great content James.. thanks:)

  2. Nic Penrake says:

Great stuff, as always James. Interested to see you using Pinterest. I’ll check out your guide. Cheers, Nic Penrake

  3. I can say from doing this for years, it works. I also submit them to stumbleupon and digg, then I take their viral url and share it through social media which gives me more diggs and stumbles :)

  4. Mk akan says:

James, this is exactly what i do when i publish a post.except the pinterest thing.it does work. By the way,I sent you a mail today dunno if you got it. Please get back to me.thanks

  5. Gary Riding says:

Very useful James; I was not aware of the link back feature, so I will start using that from now on. I am also looking forward to the Hook Pigeon training.

  6. There’s a lot to be said for just getting involved in the community. I think a lot of people use blog commenting just for ‘backlinks’ but I think there’s a lot more to be gained from ‘real’ interaction and interest.

I really like step#2 because not only do you jump in on recent conversations – you also learn more about your target market, the language they use and the pains they’re experiencing. Great stuff for writing compelling (and converting) copy.
